FYI...To those who subscribed to the Givestars program: I did write to them last week when they sent out the update on the program. I expressed my disappointment in it not being clear the program was dependent on investors not just fans of artist supporting their cause/concern re legitimacy of the program continuing...ect...etc... I am am assuming others who wrote in may receive something similar.
I received the reply pasted below, this morning. I haven't made up my mind what I wish to do, however, I could always opt in again when they are more firmly organized. (In my mind...not that I shared this with the Givestars program...but I thought this was a cool way to send a card even to another Atoper with Adams voice etc. Now I have no idea if there will even be an Adam connection after two years.) Hello______ We completely understand your frustration. First and foremost, we sincerely apologize for the lack of communication. We have been through a complete restructuring of the company and we are now finally getting back on track. Unfortunately, investors backed out due to them wanting to go away from our 100% of greeting card profits to charity model. Our vision is to always maintain that model and with our new team in place, we are committed to making that happen. We are also committed to staying in consistent communication with our backers. We are sorry if anything has seemed misleading - I assure you that was not the intention. If you would like your money back, we will make that happen for you -- but we would love the opportunity to regain your trust. Dan Caldwell, who is on our board of directors, is happy to give you a call personally to explain clearly, if you have any unanswered questions. I enjoyed reading Spike Edney article and was very surprised that he lives right here in Southern California, in the beautiful desert of Palm Spring. I was surprised too. Does anyone know if his wife is American? |
