Queen Facts @queenfacts1991 2h Today in 2012, Queen + Adam Lambert began rehearsing for their first ever tour together. Hard to believe it's been 4 years. I remember about this time getting all ready and so excited to be travelling to London to see those 3 shows at the Hammersmith Apollo. I had a fantastic time and stayed in town long enough to see most of the sites. To quote the slogan from Virginia Slims cigarettes.....Adam..."You've come a long way baby"! Wonder what all will be going on in 2020! Can't wait!!!

Oh interesting.. when I think of curry, I think of Indian curry. I can understand the influence of Indian cuisine in the UK, but am even more surprised that it's typical in Ireland. My experience is that it is easier to find a curry house in Northern Ireland -- but there are many more people of Indian ancestry in the Republic of Ireland. Republic of Ireland - about 1.5% of population is of South Asian/Indian ancestry - there are was a large immigration of Indian doctors and medical professional in the 1980's and 1990's; technical professionals in the 1990's and 2000's. There are also over 90,000 people of Indian ancestry who were born in Ireland. Northern Ireland does a more detailed census but is far less diverse - 1.8 per cent (32,400) of the usually resident population of Northern Ireland belonged to minority ethnic groups in 2011. The main minority ethnic groups were Chinese (6,300 people), Indian (6,200), Mixed (6,000) and Other Asian (5,000), each accounting for around 0.3 per cent of the usually resident population. A further 0.1 per cent (1,300) of people were Irish Travellers. When it comes to food, however, things don't always work the wa we think. Fish and chips originated in France/Belgium with roots going back to Spain. They were almost certainly brought to England (London) by a Jewish immigrant in 1860 and by Italians to Scotland, Ireland and Wales. I was working on my family genealogy and stumbled upon an oddity. One part of my family migrated from a small set of villages (Casalattico, Lazio) south of Rome to the United States. Some of my relatives migrated from Casalattico to Scotland and Ireland -- and brought fish and chips, and ice cream to Scotland, Ireland and Wales -- opened up chip shops and carts, a few becoming quite wealthy. Wow how fascinating! I didn't know that.. Thanks for the info.
