Too funny! I can't believe it got there so fast. I did choose the fastest mailing option. And no, I didn't tell him I was sending it. He's our bff from Wales and came to London to see QAL with us in 2012 and has been down twice since to see QAL and TOH with bamafan and sandysva. You are a sweetheart! I bet your friend has a happy little smile on his face today, along with a puzzled expression for 'where the heck did that come from'... ... and a public thank you from me for the poster - it's lovely.

I was actually at the taping of this particular AGT! Could not figure out why he got a standing "O!" Yes, it was good, that I recognized. He deserved to go thru to the next round. But having seen STL live many times, it is hard not to compare it to Adam's. There are so many covers where I prefer Adam's version now, even over the originals. Rihanna's "Stay" is a perfect example for me! Yes, I almost can't listen to a vocalist without a voice in my head whispering , "Pretty good, but Adam would be/did it better." There are still a few exceptions for me -- but they ate getting more rare. Yesterday, I was shopping and a The Who song started playing and all I could think was "Adam would sing it better." Perhaps I need an intervention. I have the same reactions... Though I do sometimes hear something on the radio and think "Adam would probably never put out a song like this." Haha.

I have read comments questioning/criticizing people for always comparing other singers to Adam. "Why can't you just appreciate them all? You are obsessed with Adam." How can I explain? I don't INTEND to compare all singers to Adam. I am not invested in ranking Adam among singers. It's as if my brain, upon hearing a male singer, defaults to its "Adam" setting. Perceiving it is not Adam's voice, the brain says, "What is that?! There something wrong here. I'm not feeling this voice like I should." It's like opening up a bottle of your favorite soda on a hot summer day, only to find that it is lukewarm. And flat. Or turning on my high end stereo equipment, only to find out that the subwoofer is blown. Or sitting down on what looks to be a cushy comfortable chair, only if feel lumps and springs. Adam's voice just moves me from the top of my head to the tips of my toes. I have learned to accept that there are some whose ears cannot discern and appreciate the exquisite beauty of Adam's voice. How sad! How lucky are those of us who could hear that angelic sound! It is what it is!

4 years ago today One of the best days of my life I remember it like it was yesterday. And I also remember leaving a family barbecue early to be able to watch it on tv and getting side-eyed A LOT for this I was so nervous for him. And it led to one of the best renditions of "Under Pressure". I've watched this video a gazillion times and still get goosebumps... especially Adam singing the long note around 3.00... I wonder what happened to Brian's double neck guitar, I can't remember him using it afterwards. Ah Yes! My personal favorite from that show. Frankly, that whole show was amazing - first time out for Adam, little rehearsal, 100s of thousands standing the the streets and they fucking nailed it. Balls of steel indeed.

I don't know the tech terms but Adam sings and the deep pure quality of his voice (don't know what the musical terms are for it) just give me a feeling of warmth and happiness I can't explain. I don't have that response when I listen to other artists..it is just not there. The voice, the performance style, the charisma gives me 'positive energy' like no other voice I hear out there. It is just the way it is for me. I feel lucky to have found Adam because he has brought me back to enjoying music again as I did before life kind of got me side tracked.

One of my favourite moments is at 1:12 when Adam gently pushes Roger to the front of the stage, closer to the crowd.
