On the photos -- as long as they are posted for discussion -- it is OK. So please discuss them. Now that is hard work!

Not a good photo shoot. Adam - handsome as always, but the "feelings just aren't there". Rather like school photos. OMG!! Scrolling through the other pics, I was seriously laughing out loud in some. EVERYONE looks posed and stiff. The Tommy ones are comedy. What is going on there? Either they have no use for the photographer or I don't even know, but no one appears to be having fun. All the vibrancy of GNT that is caught in every candid photo is lacking here. I mean, it's rare that you see a photo of Adam that almost looks pained. There were a few that worked, but whoa, I could sense the lack of synchronicity happening there. And those shots with the costumes were cute, but I've never seen Adam look more unnatural. This one killed me. Like, what? ETA: Looking at it larger, he looks adorable, but the pose is so ... WTF? "And here's my limp coat sleeve ..." ;D OMG, and the Tommy shots were beyond awkward. Doing a "Perfect Pushup" in his creepers? LMAO.

murly -- what you said!! That said, there is a wide spectrum of Christian belief and thought. The part I can't stand, is when people claim that they believe the bible is the literal word of God to deny civil rights to people -- this was used to defend slavery in the US, oppress women and gays, and even to discriminate against Catholics. I think everyone is entitled to their own beliefs but they are not entitle to force them on me or other people. The challenge is that some people belong to religions that believe that God has charged them with spreading the Word of God. I have now learned to respond to the question, "Have you been saved?" with the response, "I'm Jewish, my people wrote the Book." End that conversation in about 4 seconds. On a related topic -- I am pleased that Libertarian-leaning Republicans finally stood up and pledged campaign support for the Republican Senators who supported gay marriage in NY. As long as these right-wing Christians control the money flow to Republican politicians, change will be impossible. Hopefully, more people will understand the need to support open-minded, socially liberal Republicans and reclaim the party of Lincoln. I hyperventalate when I think how self-righteous people can be about their beliefs and how defensive they get when you call them on the selectivity of their stances. I've confronted 3 people who I have considered friends for years about this since I've come to know Adam and his friends. None of them are homophobes, or maybe I'm kidding myself, but how they can not see the hypocrisy of condemning homosexuality yet tolerating other "sins" is mind-bogling. One of them has a (wonderful) Christian daughter who lives with her boyfriend because "they are going to get married anyway and are trying to save money on rent and THEY LOVE ONE ANOTHER." One is the third wife of a "Chrisitan" man who left his ex-wives other than the accepted Biblical reasons condoning divorce. One has had an abortion, because it was inconvenient to have the child, not because she was 16 or had been raped or had a medical condition. Everyone "forgives" them for these departures from the scripture they proclaim so vehemently, but I know for a fact they voted against marriage equality a few years back because homosexuality is a "sin." To me, one of the Seven Deadly Sins should be hypocrisy and another should be judging others. We say it all the time, but I live it every day - Adam has changed my life and my views (or at least the expression of them) in HUGE ways. I don't get strident about it, but I no longer am silent and let things pass. The old saying is so true, if you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem.!There are days I love and admire that boy so much I could die! Today's one of those days. It started this morning with re-listening to the IGB video. To think he is denied ANYTHING because of his orientation makes me burn. Aspen, this so resonates with me. I'm sure prior to Adam people around me made comments that I didn't even register. While I am always reasonably calm : I will will not sit still and hear a comment without responding to it. It does make me feel good to speak out about the intolerance. One women who works for me is a hard core Christian & we've started to get into a couple of these conversations. I am friendly with her, but have had to ask her to leave my office before I started to get really upset and maybe say something I shouldn't. I've told her the main reason I get upset with her is that she is an intelligent women who should just know better.
