OT but I've decided to frame my signed Adam calendar instead of letting it just sit in my 'Adam treasure chest' (lol) and I have room for six pics to accompany it. I want them to give a feeling of the many layers of AFL. I definitely want one from Maxidome, GNT, his acoustic I Heart Radio session, RMT, and one showing his Pre-Idol sexiness. I sure would welcome any other suggestions anyone might offer. 8-)

If I remember correctly, Adam didn't actually work with Rivers Cuomo. I think I remember some pretty nice remarks from him about Adam though. Does anyone else remember that? I think PUU maybe was just too hard to do live and maybe it wasn't one of Adam's favorite songs. Not sure it would have fit in the Glam Nation live set list. Just like, IMO, Broken Open didn't fit either. Using BO and Soaked would not have been a good idea. They did meet. Here is the interview where he talks about their meeting. Cuomo is saying that Adam not only changed the lyrics but the melody as well. Well PUU can be bundled in with why he hasn't sung a handful of songs off of FYE.. MP, CLYG, TFM, & PUU, he has never performed. Why..? Who know's...we may never know!  |

my guess (and I think didn't Adam say this at a meet n' greet once?) is that the bridge of PUU is too difficult to sing on a regular basis, that it was constructed in the studio. I know there was a fan report of hearing him sing it at sound check and nail the bridge once, but never an audio of this.
I also think that FYE was perhaps added late and shortened, not just because of flow/story-telling reasons, but because it is the one song where Adam sounds better studio than live. It doesn't seem to be in his right range or something until he gets to the wail-ey parts.
Of course both of these songs could maybe have been tweaked until they worked consistently well live for him, but maybe he didn't have time, and other songs worked better so it wasn't worth it.
ETA: Isn't CLYG also a vocal-chord shredding number if it's done regularly? I'd still love to hear this or PUU live just once, but I'm thinking the window for this happening before era 2 is almost closed.
But I keep waiting for some Adam music to show up on soundtracks for film/tv, and for maybe some of these neglected songs, or some from album 2 that have a lot of emotional punch, to be perfect for some scene.

I definitely think MP should be performed....especially with the NY gay marriage passage and the energy it produced to keep moving forward for equality for everyone. Kind of a 'battle cry' maybe? |

Fantasy Springs was unique - including his costume... Yes! How could I have forgotten Fantasy Springs...it's my avatar! (lol) Thank you! I've got to go do RL stuff. I'm going to miss SYTYCD tonight  but I'm sure someone will have a video up I'll be able to see later! |

MP and CLYG are not on the main album - they are bonus tracks on special versions. I don't think he really considers TFM as ~his song - he did it for the movie and RCA stuck it on the album. PUU is the only regular song from FYE and certainly the only one he co-wrote on that he has never performed live. |
