Who is Joseph Campbell?? [/quote] He was a teacher and writer of mythology and religious studies. Most famous for his "Follow your bliss" For some reason ever since I started following Adam, I keep thinking of and posting about Joseph Campbell quotes in relation to Adam. Here are some of his famous quotes. www.brainyquote.com/quotes/authors/j/joseph_campbell.html

Joseph Campbell wiki pg Joseph John Campbell (March 26, 1904 – October 30, 1987) was an American mythologist, writer and lecturer, best known for his work in comparative mythology and comparative religion. His work is vast, covering many aspects of the human experience. His philosophy is often summarized by his phrase: "Follow your bliss."[1] Ok... We have a Philosopher + Comic + Funk Singer ??? ;D

Joseph Campbell. The beginning of my heroic journey. I believe Adam has found the path of exploration. He did not need the words or wise counsel of Joseph Campbell to lead him there. But he surely is finding his honest way.

@greg_wells
writing with @ekiddbogart is like having joseph campbell, larry david, and bootsy collins all in one package. nice package, evan.Sounds intriguing, no? This part especially is kinda tantalizing. It's always been my secret hope that funk is one of the places where Adam's love of energetic, danceable, rhythm-based music can intersect with his powerful voice and wish for a more organic sound. ETA: Nikka Costa=pretty damn funky, too It is exciting stuff! Who wants to get funky on the mothership and talk about Adam's modern day hero's journey then complain about baldness? ;D

We have a Philosopher + Comic + Funk Singer ??? ;D To my mind, Joseph Campbell is like a prophet to the non-religious; or the religious who are continuing to seek answers. His life's mission was to study the myths, religions and teachings of every culture he could manage. He found that throughout history and despite vast differences in geography and cultural evolution, the same themes echoed throughout the myths and religions of every tribe, civilization and society. Which, to my mind, should unify us, because all religious teachings are at their core, extremely similar – they are stories we tell ourselves in order to understand our universe and live together. In his series of interviews with Bill Moyers, he gets in depth and discusses it with extreme clarity and reverent humor. It's a great series of interviews. Also LOVE Larry David and Anthrogeek is a big funk fan and has been wishing for a Bootsie Collins collab since she discovered Adam. I agree. I think he would do great with a little funk. And Nikka does have that too, for sure. Interesting that he just started following Lenny Kravitz today as well. Love his brand of rock/funk.
