AlisonI love PUU and I also hope he will sing it someday.  I don't have the physical CD with me (I'm at work now lol) but I think besides Cuomo , Greg Wells has something to do with PUU also. Is it production? Lyrics with Cuomo and Adam? Adam said that he changed a few lines from the original song.... was it Wells also? Something like that, I don't remember exactly. Does anyone remember something, or has the CD? Gelly, Yes, Wells was involved in PUU also--just not sure what his contribution was. I can't put my finger on why DTRH and PUU have always appealed to me (and WWFM not so much--I must not understand what makes a hit record or maybe I just like quirky album tracks). For me the common thread between these two songs is the unapoligetic joy in the lyrics, music, and Adam's delivery. No pandering to pop radio--just pure fun. What I love about the Greg Wells and Sam Sparro songs is that they are Adamized.
The only other Adam track -- Aftermath -- was produced by Howard Bensen and de-Adamized. Thankfully, we have the acoustic version and the remix. (Happy NOT to hear Bensen and Cavallo's name anywhere near this album. Do.not.want.this.old.school.rock.production.near.Adam!! The "wall of sound" obscures THE VOICE!)
The other songs on the album are Adam singing a Gaga song, or a Pink song, or a Max Martin song, etc.

I cannot say how happy I am to hear that Greg Wells, Evan Bogart and Adam are in studio again. And, although I am less excited about the inevitable return of Max Martin from a creative standpoint, there is almost no chance RCA will release this album without Max tracks. And I think it is a good bet that Max Martin produces the lead single. I know, me too. Greg Wells, he of the 'I've never worked with a singer like this'. My favorite tweet from era1. |
