The problem with not going along with the 'pretense' of the winner being a surprise is that if that happened at a high profile gig, for eg, AMA's or Emmy's or Oscar's....just to name a few...or even to several of the smaller ones...the whole award show genre/industry would become an open joke and ultimately, fail completely. We know that some are 'real' and some are 'fake' but if we come to believe [rightly or wrongly] that if one is, they all are fake...there goes the value of the award altogether. No more award shows eventually...for good or bad... If Adam did that at a larger show, and threw it off like that, he would never be invited to present an award again...for fear of the same imho I suppose so. My impression was that Adam was told Brian had won, and he prepared a few words about how wonderful Brian was. Then, when he found out it was supposed to be a surprise, he still wanted to talk about Brian. I would guess he got permission to do so. Just my take on it. Of course he knew ahead of time who would be receiving the award, that is pretty much a given on most of these type shows. It was, however, poor style for Adam to throw the 'secret envelope' under the bus like he did. All he needed to do was open the envelope and then make his introduction of Brian. Easy peasy, no reason to discredit the suspense of the award like he did.

CreativeDisc.com @creativedisc First look of @adamlambert as Eddie from the upcoming remake of "The Rocky Horror Picture show" Every time this picture showed up in Adamtopia, I wanted to laugh. He looks like Ben Stiller in this picture.

Then, when he found out it was supposed to be a surprise, he still wanted to talk about Brian. I would guess he got permission to do so. Just my take on it. I agree. There were a total of ZERO people in that audience that didn't assume that Adam was invited to that award show for the sole purpose of presenting it to the man he's been sharing a huge, high-profile stage with for the past few years. I can't even believe that anyone is taking that moment so seriously. If the writers & producers of that show wanted to maintain ANY semblance of impartiality and suspense, they would not have asked the lead singer of one of the nominee's bands to present the award. Also, to mszue, comparing that award ceremony with Adam - particularly that award presentation - to award shows like the AMAs, Emmys, or Oscars, is like comparing apples to strawberries. Sure, they both share a fundamental trait but there is a crucial difference you're ignoring. The AMAs, Emmys, etc. are huge award ceremonies that don't invite an award presenter to present in a category in which the presenter has an obvious & huge bias toward one of the nominees. The only time that happens at those shows is when pretty much every one knows who's going to win prior to the announcement (i.e. Lifetime Achievement awards, etc.). Adam discarding the envelope that everyone knew contained the name of his bandmate at this small, untelevised award show is not a big deal. It's not even a medium deal. There was no illusion of secrecy or suspense.

Catching up, and it's been a bit hit or miss, so I don't know if this has already been mentioned, but it sounds to my ears like Adam is singing "if he loves, if he loves, if he loves me" in the beginning of that longer YouTube video of his new song, "Broken." If so, it'll be pretty cool for him to finally have a song (hopefully) on the radio (since "Fever" remained an album cut and unfortunately never got mainstream airplay here) with lyrics that explicitly specify a male love interest. But do we know that "Broken" is also his also, that he has songwriter credit to this song or just lending his voice.

I heard that too!!! ❤️❤️❤️ See my lyrics write up above. I don't think he sings "if he loves me", but still it's about loving someone. Your lyrics for that line sound right. Ah, well. It would have been nice! This song is definitely a grower (for me). I'm liking it more and more. The melody reminds me of another song, but I've been out of the loop and haven't been listening to much radio lately, so I can't put my finger on the tune. I hope "Broken" gets a fairer shake and more support than "Welcome to the Show" and "Can't Go Home," both of which I thought were great and had so much potential.

Everybody there knew Adam was giving the award to Brian. But we all have our own opinions.
