thanks for replying mys*&@^#r50  I don't get it. Even if you love those artists don't you get boooooored by the constant repeat? I understand the constant repeat if they're playing it in certain hours with high ratings but all the time? :-/ Haha!! Yep! For awhile, I started tracking because I would leave from work at the same time every day. I get into my car at 5:50, turn on the ignition and Rihanna's "Only Girl in the World" would be on. Every. Day. For weeks. In the hour it takes me to drive home, I would hear "Grenade," "Say My Name," and "Love the Way You Lie" all within that :60, so pretty much a given – three Rihanna songs in 60 minutes, every day. Needless to say, I would flip around because couldn't take the same songs over and over, but would flip back just to check and sure enough, they were there like clockwork. I remember once, when Taylor Swift's first single off this new album came out (can not remember the title) but I was driving to my son's house, 65 minutes away and it played twice on KIIS! I'm thinking, "Huh? Get this country song off my Pop staion!!" |

The Voice is repeating right now and Pitbull and Neo are on.. I am having some trouble picturing Adam doing anything like this..  Please say he won;t.. LOL I wish we would get some kind of hint or leak.. just to calm the nerves a bit.. can't believe how anxious I am getting.. |

I found this interesting the other day. I was reading a numbers' thread at MJ's and someone posted the sales for Selena Gomez. I thought she was hugely successfull, but turns out, neither of her first 2 albums went platinum. They have a comined total sales of 1.4 million as of April of this year. And of course, she has released 3 albums in only 2 years. Yikes! Selena gets played a ton in Los Angeles!!!

And if they buy Gaga's album, it increases sales of other albums -- people who buy music, often buy multiples. Same for books, shoes, cosmetics, etc. |

I don't know if they only stocked a few but I'd say there were about 4. It did have a special marker in it's bin, advertising it. But it was not on the end cap with new releases. That was pretty much just full of Beyonce. I know she has a Target exclusive, so it makes sense. Also, they were out of FYE and GLam Nation Live, about a month ago, but restocked those. |

Relax All I know is everyday at work I listen to Z100 out of NY streaming off of the Z100 website on my computer to listen to Elvis Duran and I am not sure if the feed I get is the music they are playing straight off the local station or music being played online through a different feed (when I streamed Z100 from the I Heart Radio website I get totally different music in between talk segments--one day it was every Rihanna song ever made and another it was every In Sync song ever made which I know for sure is not what they are playing off the actual channel lol) but I hear JLo's On The Floor, Katy's alien sex song, Lady Gaga's Edge of Glory, Kesha's Blow and Pitbull and Neyo's new song all day long. It's enough to make me want to barf. It's the exact reason why I cannot listen to Ryan Seacrest's show in the morning. I know these stations play the most popular songs--that's fine--but are these really the most popular because people actually love them and they are good or just because they are played so much that people are like "Well, I hear it all day long so it must be good!" kind of thing? I just wish they would not play these "popular" songs 100 times a day. That's my main problem...the sheer amount they are played. I totally forgot the point I was gonna make with tying this in with Adam. I have a heat headache from cleaning windows at my Mom's house for 8 hours. |

I guess what the discussion we have today is relevant to the article that mys*&@^#r50 posted the other day about how much it costs for a song to be a hit and the "gifts" the radio producers are receiving to promote a song. It's like brain washing.
But then again it's my choice to switch station. IDK.
