Where is Cassie? TSMGO and WWTLF!!!!!!!!WOW! I don't want to offend anyone. But I have seen Freddie well on YT lol. Sing those songs. Well he never sung SMGO live of course. But technically I Think Adam vocally is as good as Freddie. Is that sacrilage saying that? Lol. Adam is the only one, so Freddie is still in very good company. That is a compliment to the legend and legacy of Freddie Mercury, that he has a young kid carrying on his flame. Everyone should be grateful for Adam, wish ppl were more open minded and see the beauty of Queen + Adam Lambert. Freddie's name has come alive again because of Adam. Should I? Shouldn't I? cassie, walk away from the keyboard. Just walk away. ..... Nope, cannot do it. 3ku1 says "technically I think Adam vocally is as good as Freddie." Everyone is entitled to their opinion and their preference. But, as a person who studied voice I can say, TECHNICALLY, Adam is much stronger than Freddie vocally. That is only natural, as Adam studied voice for many, many years, and Freddie did not. Not that it matters. Freddie is legendary, and a wonderful performer. His live version of WWTLF is powerful in terms of emotion and interpretation. It is poignant and gripping, knowing that he will be dead just five years later. There is something very raw and gut-wrenching about his performance. Adam's is.... different from Freddie's. A voice teacher can use it as an example of masterful vocal technique. I am not saying that Adam is better than Freddie, overall, or on WWTLF specifically. "Better" is a subjective word. In order to make a statement about who is "better," people would have to specify and agree on the criteria for judging. And we know, that's not gonna happen. Isn't it wonderful that we can, thru video, hear and see them both?

Adam singing WWTLF and TSMGO back to back? Now that is just showing off! I almost believe that Adam heard Brian's discussion about TSMGO; how difficult it was to sing, as was WWTLF, and how, to save his voice, Adam could not sing them at every performance. Adam says, "Oh yeah? I can't? Just watch me! And not one or the other, but both. And not spaced out, but back to back." He scares the hell out of me doing it, but it is certainly stunning and breathtaking. Here is the audio. Brian's discussion of TSMGO starts about 13:00. soundcloud.com/user-63822939/interview-with-brian-may?utm_source=soundcloud&utm_campaign=share&utm_medium=twitter

These performances seem to me to be on a whole new level. Adam knows these songs so well now that it seems he is really performing them now. The songs are completely inside of him at this point and the stage ques are second nature -- so, he can just let go. LOVE IT!

Maybe coz the relationship between Brian/Adam is not the same as Freddie/Brian. Even though they're under one name Queen, but behind the scene maybe there's probably some competition over control, creativity, etc, among members (as it often happens in a band). In QAL, Adam is their guest, though very important one. Adam and Brian seem to have a very strong musical connect that I have rarely observed on stage before. They seem to play off each other and anticipate what is going to happen. *** I don't think Adam is a guest anymore. Adam seemed like a guest sometimes in 2014, less so in 2015. But he seems right at home on that stage now -- and does not seem to be anyone's guest. Something different is going on now. JMHO, but Adam is different. ITA and funny to read this after watching a few of the songs with my husband. We both saw QAL in Chicago, Detroit and Toronto and thought Adam was fantastic. Even so, I was just commenting to him, and he agreed, that while Adam was great before, for the first time it doesn't feel one little bit like he's playing a role; instead, he seems to be embodying the music. Amazing!

I'd say even further that Adam is probably technically better than Freddie because Adam is actually a trained singer, while Freddie was not a trained singer.
