To be honest, I also found the movie to be rather tedious. Fun for a while, but then I wanted .... something more. It lacked energy or conviction. Except for Adam of course. I totally agree. It was kind of lackluster. But not Adam.

I think left lips are Laverne's.

I was afraid of this and am thrilled that Adam nailed his part and is getting all these accolades. I had trouble understanding some of Luverne's words as well. The original was "edgy" ...this rendition was cheesy and boring IMO

I agree cassie! loved that Adam had this opportunity and he was great. This new version lacked the edge and camp of the original. Laverne was all wrong for my taste. Tim Curry kept you on edge and the characters were messy where as in the new version the costumes were too nice and the characters didn't worry me. After all it's suppose to be a horror film! haha

I think the momentum of the show suffered because of the commercial breaks. I found some of the acting towards the end was unbelievable unless they were going for cartoon like. Highlights for me was all the Adam bits. I think Eddie became a bigger role than in the original but I thought his murder scene was lame. The audience participation seemed stilted at times. Loved the lips at the end. Good point about the commercials. They really ruined the flow. Kind of chopped up the whole thing. I hope Adam continues to get some well-deserved praise for his little role. He really was a stand-out and made his mark.

I am glad that Adam turned down the Frank N Furter role. I've had too much of the "Not Freddie Mercury" and wouldn't want to read "Not Tim Curry." I also think it is good for Adam to avoid the stereotype that many folks still seem to have about him as flaming, with make-up.
Having said that, Adam would have been absolutely delightful in the role, IMO. I imagine he would have been very camp, with a wicked humor and a glint in his eye, but with a hint of darkness in it. Laverne was very striking looking, but I couldn't get into her character or even define it that well. The whole movie would have had a different feeling with Adam, and I think a much higher energy. And definitely more fun.

I had never seen RHPS before. So I spent the $2.99 to watch the original showing On Demand last night. I'm glad I did because then I knew what to expect tonight. Adam was fantastic. I don't think Laverne was bad but something was lacking. Haven't seen any of her other work so don't know if the part was wrong for her or something else. Adam really went all out and he was just a great addition for energy, voice and style. I also enjoyed Ivy. It was fun tho and so happy they are saying good things about Adam's performance.

Ok, here goes. Adam absolutely NAILED Eddie and his was the best vocal and visual performance in the show. Best character portrayal, and certainly the most FUN. I have to be honest, I thought the show as a whole was kind of slow-paced and awkward. I know the show is supposed to be campy and crazy and really out there. I saw the original years and ago but haven't seen it recently. This new one got kind of tedious to me. I kept wanting to speed up. The other voices were just fine, and the humor was there, but I though some of it was kind of klunky. No wonder some of the reviewers are a little tepid about the whole show but are giving Adam great praise. I think his was the strongest performance. LOVED those huge pictures of him in the background and the casket with Eddie's body inside. And I admit, I didn't quite catch on to Adam being one of the singing lips till about half way through! Overall, I had a great time watching. Wish there could have been MORE ADAM! I have to agree with you about it feeling a little too slow paste, especially after the energy and great camp Adam brought to it went...out the castle window! And Laverne Cox's singing underwhelmed which surprised me because I was really excited to hear her. I thought the acting was good by all. Overall I enjoyed it...it was fun.

Come in, smash it, get out!!!!
