I'm not stressing over Adam's Twitter silence. I don't feel entitled to communication from Adam. For me, it's not about what I want, or about feeling bored or pissy. I was thinking of his best interests, not about placating me or feeding fandom's addiction. It's about reaching the other 98 percent of fans who clicked "Follow" or "Like" and never returned to his page since then, who don't follow anyone else he follows and so never see his @ replies, who never search his name on Twitter or Google, who only see the news from him that shows up in their feed, and who never visit a message board and never think of him unless they hear his music or come across a message from/about him. He's had sporadic contact recently with those fans. I want him to do what feels right for him, including concentrating completely on his music and his personal life before things get crazy if that's what he needs or wants to do. Maybe he'll make more effective use of social media later--or not, whatever he chooses. It's certainly not the only, maybe not even the best, way to reach the public. I just think it's an easy, no-brainer way to do it. It's just another tool. For the impact it seems he wants to make with this new album (and as a still relative newcomer), I think he needs every tool in his arsenal. He's smart, so on second thought, I'm sure he'll tweet more often down the line, on his own timetable, when the creative process is over and marketing gears up. I guess I was just hoping--again for his sake, not because I'm personally anxious for tweets--that it would be a natural build and feel less like "promotion" because I think people are more receptive when they associate you in their mind with more than a link to purchase a single or buy concert tickets or to watch your latest music video. If you can develop a connection, bring a smile or a laugh or something thought-provoking or sexy into someone's life, or have them frequently think of you as cool or fascinating or just friendly, as a someone they "know" and dialogue with, then I think you have an advantage--at least in terms of getting their attention, which is the first step. I think there's a chance that people are more willing to support an artist in an enthusiastic grassroots way when they've developed/reignited ~feelings for that person. Maybe those associations won't happen until his next twenty tweets. Some people (like me) don't check Twitter daily so might miss his infrequent posts. Isn't there some marketing adage that consumers have to be exposed to a message X number of times before it begins to make an impression? That's why I want Adam to tweet--not 'cause I'm nosey or restless.
But it's only a suggestion into the void. I'm a fan and my only job is to enjoy, so from now on I'm just gonna wait for the fun stuff to start!

chunkey and marie23 I have seen some of what you are talking. Not tweeted directly to Adam so often, but amongst twitter friends talking to each other (but since they have a lot of followers it's not exactly a private conversation.) I don't think it has anything to do with Adam and his tweeting patterns which aren't that different from usual as people have pointed out, but more with us, the "hardcore" fans. We joke about it, but the feed of Adam info from multiple sources is a daily habit, even an addiction in some cases. This has gone on fairly steadily with brief interruptions at most for two years. It's understandable that a longer interruption is going to cause more than a little boredom for the small group that has made it part of their daily lives for two years and they may get a little irrational and upset about it at times along with joking and grumbling. It's something I think about with regards to myself. I think Adam would hope for us to #getoneofourown (although we often do have happy and fulfilling lives, we've just made stanning him a small part of them, just like any other enthusiasm or obsession), and it makes me wonder what the actual difference is to him or to his label between a hardcore 24/7 stan and a more casual, but still album buying/concert attending fan. Then I realize that that really doesn't matter. For me it comes down to is what I'm doing making me happy? Can I adjust in ways that still make me happy if the experience of fandom continues to change or evolve? ^^^^THIS!!! The experience as an Adam fan will always change and evolve because Adam will continue to change and evolve. Adam will do what he needs to do to pursue his artistic interests. We, the people of the Adam nation, should also continue to change and evolve in ways that match our real life interests. As many have said here an at other forums, Adam is an inspiration to us to pursue our own real life interests and to expand on our artistic freedoms. Adam is not abandoning us when he focuses on his artistic output or his own real life. IMO, he is hoping that he continues to inspire our joint journeys of discovery and continue to fearlessly take the ride. These posts are a wonderful reminder of the ways Adam enhances my world. When he's living his life to the fullest, it inspires me to get myself in gear. He makes me want more joy in my own life. And, also, I'm now going to think of him as off somewhere being fearless and artistic and unconcerned with the mundane matters of marketing.

Just got back from a long, EXHAUSTING day ziplining in the Angeles National Forest. What an amazing, challenging experience. I brought one of my local Adam stan friends with me (we have a group and we get together about once a month). She was fierce and awesome and we both wore Adam shirts. The course was brutal though. I ziplined in Hawaii before and it was a blast, but this time, HOLY CRAP!! 10 lines, one is 1,500 feet long. Three rappels and three sky bridges. (Those were EEEEK!!!) I had a couple of points where I thought I might freak out. Before we left, we were jokingly, tweeting Adam to say he and Sauli should join us. Actually, there have been a lot of L.A. media out as this one just opened and it's the largest zipline in North America. (If anyone has heard about the one in Asheville, NC, it's the same company.) They have a huge billboard on Sunset and Vine right now, so maybe A and S will end up going. Seems like a good thing for Sauli's blog and something he would get a kick out of. You are with the same eight people for about four hours and you really form a bond. OMG!! I can only imagine if anyone ends up in a group with A and S. LUCKY! We had two guides. We were on about the eighth run and the female guide, who was probably in her mid-20s, asked me about my shirt (my GNL deluxe-pack shirt) as she was clicking me in. I told her it was from Adam Lambert's concert. And before we had a chance to discuss zzzziiippp! I had to go. My friend, Sandi, did some converting while they waited for me to cross. Apparently the girl had never heard of Adam and Sandi said, "You Tube him! I'm telling you, you have to hear him. You won't regret it, I promise." The guide seemed excited and said she is definitely going to look him up. I really hope she does. SFierce I love you! I have been killing myself trying to think of what to get my husband for his birthday July 22. He has everything, and that is such a fun idea! if you have any tips, will you PM me? Oops, my post disappeared. That was weird. Yaay, Lynne, so glad I could help. From what you've said about hubby, it sounds like he'd love it. It's a cool family experience too. We had a mom, dad, daughter (21ish) and her BF in our group. And two boys about 18. They were funny. It was the mom's 50th bday. I'll PM you anything I think of. Since I am going to be SORE tomorrow, I imagine I'll have plenty of time to lie around and send you stuff.

Good lord Jay Leno Sleepwalker, Ellen, and FS WWL. Pulling out all the stops tonight!
I forgot about the Ellen performance where they cut out the part about him donating his sweaty underwear. ;D I love how Adam interviews so often turn unintentionally dirty...I want to be big down under...I'm not a pitcher, err.. I mean I'm not a catcher...I like to play with balls....Safe plucking...

Well here I am coming out of lurkdom, finally!! I see that the NZ ads in Herald and Woman's Weekly have already been posted here So awesome to see him being promoted here, even with no new music to promote......yet!! I don't know yet how to include previous posts in my reply - I'm sure I'll figure it all out eventually! You can thank Catzmadam for me being here...love her!!! We are two of only 3 people that I know of that travelled from NZ to the US for Glam Nation last year - I went to 3 concerts - first SF and both Costa Mesa shows - totally amazing. Then had organised to go to Sydney show not long after that the NZ concert was announced, so a total of 5 shows last year! I will no doubt become a regular poster here....you guys are awesome - love reading all your opinions and thoughts as we await #2.... so excited I can't let myself think about it too much! ;D Hi eri9!! so glad you delurked!! Dang! I wish we would have known you last year. I was at second SF and both Costa Mesas. Almost a year ago ... *sigh* Well, hopefully next time if you get a chance to come to California again!! Thanks SusieFierce!! Would have been great to meet you! I did meet a few fans I'd come to know on AO, but unfortunately not able to spend any real time with any of them.....but met a few other people through another kiwi that had a whole network of people she'd met through AI forum, and have kept in touch with many of them. The best thing about being an Adam fan, apart from the man himself, obviously, is the wonderful friends I have made, both here in NZ and around the world - it is truly a remarkable phenomenon....one that continually astounds me!
