NoAngel, thanks for the funny essay. I would have to say that I'm in acceptance too. It does make it easier having all the fun stuff that you Atopers provide to while away the time. Plus there are so many old Adam videos to look at. I still can't get over how entertaining one man can be!! Thanks to the member who provided the link to the Adam confessionals. I cannot believe that I had not seen those before. I keep thinking that Adam must pinch himself every day to make sure he is not dreaming. He really is living his dream right now. I am so, so happy for him!!!

No, makes no sense that RCA would do this.

First, we do not even have confirmation that these are really album tracks -- they could be leftover tracks, or a mix. But they are finished tracks and from here new album.

Leaks of whole songs like this almost never come from the label on purpose in the current world of piracy. A label may do a preview but this album has had waves of leaks. For example, Kelly's last album was promoted with a bunch of planned mini leaks to create buzz.

Britney and Gaga had big leaks before release but that was after the music was serviced to retail and radio (digital track were sent out). This album has not even been previewed and has been leaking for over a year.

First there were the demos -- I think 4 different leaks including 2 songs Kelly said were NOT on the album. (She was outraged each time about the leaks.)

Kelly 4.28.11 “‘Cleopatra’ is NOT a song on my next record! It was written for another artist! I have no idea how it leaked, it’s a rough demo, unfinished! I’m so tired of disrespecting, lying, sneaky little trolls that pretend to be human.”

Now 4 more leaks of the finished recordings. (No Kelly outrage.)

For some reason RCA has been holding this album for months -- finished in February 2011. Latest word is that it will be released in October 2011 but it still has no official release date.

Either these leaks are coming from someone involved with the production or with Kelly or from Kelly. But in this case RCA makes no sense -- there is no release date yet, why released 5 whole songs?

I have two theories:

1. Hypothesis: The first song leaked and got less than great response. newsroom.mtv.com/2011/07/07/kelly-clarkson-let-me-down-leak/ This is an attempt to create some positive buzz.

Not RCA: This could be accomplished with one good song or song snippet. The label would have done a 20 sec - 30 sec bit or let insiders know that this was not the lead single. In other words don't what the label would do.

Kelly or Kelly loyalist: Someone how was unhappy about the meh response to Kelly's song leaked this.

2. Hypothesis: Kelly or someone associated with Kelly leaked the first track to try to pressure RCA to release the album NOW. When it didn't work, she/they leaked more tracks.

I can't see anyway RCA gains from these leaks. The only possible winner is Kelly who wants the album released and says she wants to leave RCA. I am not saying that I think Kelly herself leaked this stuff but I think a Kelly loyalist/fan may have done it.
