Believe it or not...FUR TRUE...as of about 8pm pst, the Canadian dept of Immigraton site shut down. Sad lol. It is sickening Tell me about that sweet little island you live on, I'll be needing a place to go. Only slightly kidding, or maybe not. Yes...and a good percentage of our current population consists of ex-Us Viet Nam draft dodgers...British Columbia gained tremendously from that fiasco. Time will tell if we get the best of you again!!

LOL Kamar...it is good to see a sliver of humor in this devastating night. Our news coverage is already focussed on how to secure ourselves against a HeWhoCannot amed US. Can you imagine what will come of your reproductive rights? LGBT rights? Yikes....

Just my random thoughts....
We survived Nixon.
I met Nixon once. I looked into his eyes. He was an evil man.
I know a lot about Nixon.
He was a much more dangerous man than Donald HeWhoCannot amed can even imagine.
Thankfully, we have a Constitution with checks and balances. They have allow us to survive incompetence and evilness. It will carry us through even this -- whatever it is.
You may say I am a dreamer but honestly we have distributed power and a President's power is limited, balanced.

Election isn't over yet, but I am sickened beyond belief. I never, in my long life, thought I'd feel revulsion - absolute revulsion - towards a man that might lead the nation of my birth. Is there still hope in this night? Hope is elusive right now. I share the revulsion. The man who may be our "leader" is an embarrassment who appears childish and narcissistic. He has a complete disregard for facts, rules, civility. He speaks like a 5 year old, although that's probably unfair to 5 year olds. I am horrified and disgusted, and so disappointed in my fellow Americans. I don't want to move but I'm glad I have relatives in Canada just in case. Who knows what will happen. This feels cataclysmic.

Q3, I appreciate the encouraging thoughts, but I'm not sure I can believe in them. I hope you're right though. I despised Nixon and protested against him when he was inaugurated. And he was ultimately impeached, appropriately. But I worry that both the current candidate and the people around him don't care all that much about the Constitution, and that once they are in power they will somehow undermine and subvert or override the checks and balances. But your thoughts are based on knowledge and reason, and mine are emotional and panicky, so I will try to believe you. Reason is possibly the quality I value most in a leader and our current president is probably my favorite in my lifetime. I am so sad to think that his legacy may be obliterated. But I hope you are right and that we will survive.
