This is not the America I thought I lived in! I lived thru the racial unrest of the 60s! The cold war uncertainty of the 60s, wondering which day WW3 would start. The fights for Roe vs Wade in the 70s. 3 serious recessions. Gender discrimination at work and other places. I cannot handle all that again! I am devastated! IDEK know what to say or do today! Probably, for the rest of my life, we will never have a liberal or even moderate SCOTUS! I am just gutted! Can't stop crying! 😢

My son is visiting and he stayed up all night to follow the results. He is horrified, as are his peers...so many people outside of the US send love and support.....so sorry for your pain.

I know you were a big Hillary supporter and you are one of the few of my Twitter followers that I didn't mute, because you supported her with your tweets and didn't spew out hateful negatives against the other side. Your positivity and sunny outlook will get you thru this disappointing time.

Since HeWhoCannot amed has vowed to repeal all Obama's Executive Orders in his first hundred days in office, I thought I'd check them out: link

Dear fellow Atoppers in the US, We are a world away but we feel a sadness and grief so deep after hearing about your election outcomes as if something precious had been lost. Just the ay before, the Supreme Court of my country of birth voted to allow our late dictator of a president who plundered our country and was ousted by popular revolt to be buried in our national Heroes' Cemetery. We blackened our twitter and fb posts as a sign of protest. Two heartbreaking back-to-back events. Take care everyone and warm hugs to all!!! 🙅

As one Muslim on Twitter put it: It doesn't matter who he votes for. The one candidate will harass the Muslims in the country and the other bombs his brothers and sisters in foreign countries. That I think puts the difference on the spot. She would have been a foreign disaster and he will be more of a national disaster (Just my opinion) Another difference is. She is predictable, same old...he is not, we will have to see This election falls perfectly in line what we are seeing here in Europe where parliaments have been taking STRONG right-shifts in the last two years. (Poland, France, Germany, Spain, Great Britain...). People are done with same old, with being fooled by corporations, by corporate media, by elite politicians etc. I think the Democrats overplayed themselves in the primary. They have absoluteley NO reason to complain! Had they not rigged the primary and robbed Bernie Sanders of the nomination I think we would have seen a different outcome. Bernie is Jewish. He would have about as much chance as a snowball in hell in the general election! I know he is Jewish. That does not change the fact, that he drew crowds twice and several times as big as Hillary at his rallys. Here in Germany people are shocked as well! Don't think that people think bad of all American people now!!!

I don't know why I feel so calm with this HeWhoCannot amed win...I certainly wanted Hillary. I have watched George Carlin videos this early morning..Somehow He made me feel better even though he said the American system has been rigged for ages and that our votes don't really count, how can this make me feel better???.. Donald HeWhoCannot amed also said the election is rigged and the press is dishonest.. maybe he told the truth for once.. Maybe I'm in shock... Just hoping HeWhoCannot amed was lying about getting rid of gay rights, women's rights, equal pay for women, equality for all... Just hoping against hope ... -Bringing this over from the other thread- I wish I could have your calm. Maybe I'll have to watch some George Carlin too. But right now I'm with pattihum. Tears have been streaming down my face since about 3am. I might be able to deal with it better but I have my HeWhoCannot amed supporter dad staying with us this week too and I wish I could move my office to my bedroom where I could stay closed off and sniff to myself. I have QAL New Year going so I don't have to listen to anything. There are so many social rights that are at risk but also so much of the country that will be looked at with only $$$ signs in mind. Let's put coal back to work, let's export our oil, let's do more fracking. Will Make America Great Again look at creating more rest stops for migrating birds? Will it privatize more of our national parks. Will wilderness be a concept that China dreamed up? They think Flint's water was bad? Let's talk all the chemicals in our water supply turning fish androgenous, the Perc cancer causing chemical from dry cleaning operations that is expanding in my aquifer. Who Wants to Live Forever, right? I wasn't thrilled with Bush Jr but he was just stupid, I thought McCain was shortsighted and war mongering (I won't mention his VP), Romney at least had some feelings for the greater good. And it's not about Hillary, I could have been happy with pretty much anyone. It's HeWhoCannot amed and thinking of having an asinine asshole as my president, representing me to the world, destroying things and places I hold dear. It's gut wrenching. But that didn't make me cry. Reading my facebook feed of friends and family did. It's not faceless people in the crowd. It's people I know. I just didn't know they were just like him. I could handle policy differences, I could even take verbal attacks on the candidates. But basic human decency? There has to be a line in the sand. On another note - what a gracious speech from Hillary. We will fight on.
