"4) finally, it's really easy to forget this, but no fan sites or places fans gather to share info are private. If you look at the "members online" any day here, for example, there are often twice as many or more people who aren't members reading the threads as people who are members. We don't know who these people are, and can't make any assumptions about them. "
This is so true. The first place I saw the Project Runway info was on twitter. Tweeted by a non Atop member with a link to guess where......here!

Mine has been done. Freaked me out when I saw just what a good view can be gotten from space! Here they drove up and down the streets and took pictures of all the houses. I don't know if this has changed, but at the time you had to opt out of having your house's picture come up if you googled your address (I opted out). I just saw the google car driving around my city a day or two ago. We had a lot of fun looking up our family when google earth first got going, because of course, there is a lot more info than just houses in the picture, there are our cars, the boat rotting in the backyard, the garden doing particularly well that year, etc. Even though they are supposed to blur out people's faces, my husband found himself accidentally on google earth too, overseeing a roadside project with his hardhat on a couple of years ago.

2) Though I'm sure it's not intentional the details mys*&@^#r50 and others are discussing make possible for someone to find the house online fairly quickly, even without posting photos here. Just be aware of that. (It's good to be aware that there are often plenty of people out there with more online ninja skills than you.) 3) star house tours and maps, and "cribs" type tv shows doesn't excuse this, this isn't a case where Adam chose to release the info, and home security is a continuum. 4) finally, it's really easy to forget this, but no fan sites or places fans gather to share info are private. If you look at the "members online" any day here, for example, there are often twice as many or more people who aren't members reading the threads as people who are members. We don't know who these people are, and can't make any assumptions about them. Just wanted to quickly add that I very easily found many sites with exterior and interior pics, tax and rental info and full address including postal code without twitter... don't have an account... simply by following bread crumbs on this Atop thread. And I am by no means a ninja.

I love Project Runway, and sometimes with a guest judge they have to make something the judge will wear for a special event (like a TV appearance or something). This should be fun! You just know that Adam will be kind--but honest (and that could be really fun to witness). Not so sure about that - he did say Miranda Lambert's outfit looked like Little Mermaid meets Bed Bath and Beyond. ;D www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Zu_YyyM2KM

Trust me, it was ninjas who found the address and the real estate site with the pics. The HuffPo article makes no mention of who lives in the house, so there is no link to Adam from that. So unless something changes and Q3 decides otherwise, we'll continue with the no links/no pics policy. Of course, they clicked on links and found the address and more pics. But the pictures were out there already for anyone to see. From pics from his parties, it is easy to see it is Adam's house. I agree with you guys and RCA, no posting on fan sites. But if I had come across an article about an architect (and many fans do read Huffington) and it was Adam's house, I'd be like, "Holy shit! That's Adam's house!" Being an internet person, I would click on the links. So, in my mind, I am going to think that they were discovered accidentally. There are posts by the person who made the address public where she brags about hacking into a real estate database. (In reality, it was not a "hack", her friend worked for a company that manages the property and gave her the info.) After the address was posted, it to a few minutes and a Google search to find the May article about the house in HP and to match the party pictures to the article. That aside -- there is no need for that info to be here, on a public site, that can be search with Google, Bing or other search engines.
