Regarding the gauges, I have often wondered if they were Adam's way of severing the ties to theater, if only mentally and give his all to his solo career. He did not have gauges or even earrings when he auditioned for Idol or for Hollywood week. Looking at the New Year's Eve videos at Upright Cabaret, when he knew he was in the top 36, he has small ones. (Why Don't You Call Me Anymore?) Seems like a gamble to put them in before he was on the show's top 10, but that's Adam. (Cheeks talked about visualizing his life in LA in the article mentioned earlier, I am certain that Adam uses the same technique in his life.) I would like to think that it is deeper than "dressing as the rock-n-roll star". His tats have been full of meaning, I can't imagine the gauges are not meaningful too. Of course, I don't know Adam, my thoughts could be totally wrong, but the timing of the gauges are interesting. Anything under 0g will grow back to normal, and Adam's are under 0g. (if they are still at 4ga to 2ga) Plus, Lea Michele had 7 tattoos that had to be covered when she performed in Spring Awakening on Broadway. The hair and make-up experts probably have a flesh colored fitting they use for actors with relatively small ear gauges. |

Yes, thank you! These are great except I hate the earrings. I don't like the earrings either. In fact, I wish he'd go back to wearing the kind of earrings that cover up the gauge completely. I don't like big holes in someone's ear. I don't feel too bad saying that because I remember Adam talking about how his mother was asking why he put those holes in his ears. Now mind you, I don't dislike the gauges enough that they affect my feelings about Adam at all--they're just not my cup of tea. If I'm not wrong these earrings cover the gauge completely? If you make the pic really huge there is no hole. |
