Everyone needs to make their own choice about this song. I won't buy because I don't care for it, but there is nothing wrong about buying it if you want it.

Words of wisdom from Chunkey from last night. Bears repeating, IMO.  Yes Madonna has had a stellar career Nica and we all wish Adam the same kind of success but I hope fans don't get hung up on that sort of thing. Chasing other people's records seems like a futile endeavor. He will blaze his own trail and set his own records, and in the end I could care less. I just hope he makes music that I love and is successful enough to be able to keep making music for as long as he wants too.Erm, that was way too earnest for me. Umm let me snark that up by adding...erm...aah..._uhhh...I gots nothing.  |

it seems that there is never a good time: to a casual listener -before an album seems like it is from the new album, after an album would seem it is from the old album... what do you think would be good? certainly not at the doorstep of the release of adam's new single. and you're right. never would be the best time. it makes adam's skin crawl. don't blame him for being annoyed when people try to ride off his coattails. Adam has never said this song makes his skin crawl. He was referring to people handing him Take One to sign. IMO, completely different circustances and experiences.. As far as timing, ya, no time would be perfect, but this is most likely at least a full month before Adam's new single and a full 3-4 months before the album release. Doesn't seem like awful timing, to me. I don't see this song getting any radio play. Zero! As stardust said, upthread, it's a personal decision on whether to buy or not. I am certainly not going to criticize anyone for whichever way they go. I do enjoy reading all the opinions though. |

question: How do I get a video to be seen by someone in Germany? I sent Gorgeous the link to the touching gay wedding video where The Edge of Glory was used as a soundtrack and it's not visible in his country. Is it only YouTube that has these restrictions? I'm not sure if it's only YT that has these restrictions, but it has to do with the copyrights and such. Anyway, you can bypass these by using a site that hides your IP address from the video provider. One such site is hidemyass.com. It changes the user's original IP address to one that points to the US, and thus enables the video. Ask him to try it. You just go to the site and write the address of the webpage you want to see (for example the YT page address) to the field on the page. The video should be visible then. |

PastaI understand your point, bb. That being said, this track has no promotion, no play. I don't think it will harm him, and I guess that is the main thing I think about. It will be mainly forgotten as soon as the first single is released. Then, for the general public, it will be all about whether that single hits, and for the stans, it will be all about flailing over hearing new music. Fingers crossed! It's all about if the next album is good. I know it will be good for me.

When did Adam ever say "Live the Life" made his skin crawl? He said being asked to sign "Take One" made his skin crawl. My interpretation of that was it's not about his past work, but the fact that he doesn't get a penny of "Take One" and they are making money off of him. BTW, every single artist in the history of life has past-works that they may not love or feel is indicative of their current work, but it's part of their history, just like our past jobs are part of our history. There is no getting rid of them and why would anyone even try? It's reality. Does Jodie Foster spend any time or energy trying to live down her childhood acting gigs? "Live the Life" is a gig Adam did, just like The Citizen Vein. He allied with another artist while they were both struggling. Sure, it may not be representative of what he is doing now or aspires to do, but it is what it is and if he and J. Scott (who delayed release for two years) has the right to release them, why shouldn't he? Artists band together in all capacities when trying to make it. You hope your create a work that will break through. Or you hope that you make contacts and somehow that connection will help you down the line. Adam understands the concept of the artist's tribe. He has cultivated an incredible one and has done his part by being extremely loyal to people who believed in him when he was the newbie. He can't really endorse LTL because it's in conflict with his current contract. I have a difficult time believing he begrudges JSG's desire to release it. It's not like the dude shot a porno of him or something. It's a freaking song. |
