Our home away from home...

To add insult to injury...

As you probably all know my Treasure Chest of Links is very dear to me. So to be sure I never lose all the hard work, I have all the files backed up on TWO external drives PLUS I gave another external drive to Vampfever last year... 

How it works is that each link you see for a download, I've ripped or downloaded as the videos / audio come up.


Then, at the end of the month (or a few weeks into the next month), I number each entry.


Then I make a copy of all those files I have on my computer and rename say the first file of the month, "2017 TCL01 01".


Then I strip those 'no name' files to remove all the properties of the file.


I then upload those super-duper clean files to MediaFire and if some still get flagged, I delete them from MediaFire and upload them on Mega instead (Mega is the one place that cares the least about copyright). 


Then I bring in the download links so you guys can grab whichever file you want.


Once I'm completely done with a month, I click on "Edit", same as you guys can do on your own posts, select the entire post, copy it and paste it into a WordDocument, so if the need ever arises, I basically would only have to paste each post back on the board.

So, I'm really safe, right?

Yesterday, while I was twiddling my thumbs waiting for answers or results from all the peeps working on restoring my board, I decided to be extra sure I had all those WordDocuments in one place... So I started from the very beginning of the Treasure Chest of Links, back to 2009 and put them all in one folder on my laptop... It worked swimmingly... until I hit December 2016... I have no friggin' clue what I did, but I deleted everything on BOTH my external drives and my laptop... All I was left with was Mediafire!!!! So I downloaded all the December files, which wasn't that bad... But then, I had to go find the original poster (YT, IG, tweet, etc.)... Easier said then done... I did part of it until 2:00 a.m., fell asleep at the computer, woke up at 6:00 a.m.

... and I just finished December 2016!!!!

Now, understand that if we had our board working, I would simply have had to go in the December post, edit, select the whole thing and paste it into a WordDocument...

I feel like I'm being punished for something or other, but I swear! I've been sitting in my lazyboy most of my retirement except when I babysit my grandchildren!!!!

Now I'm going to take a looooooooooooong nap and start reconstructing January which I would have had to do no matter what!

Fresh update: The board is 'almost' back to being stable. Still a few kinks to work out but programmer has gone home for the night.

Board should be up and running tomorrow...
