Kinda sorts OT but not rlly...for those of you who were hoping Adam might snag a MAC campaign..well....meet the new face of MAC Viva Glam.....

lolz. I can't for the life of me figure out why they gave it to Ricky, and that's not my *bitterbert* speaking, it's just genuine puzzlement. Maybe he's bigger internationally then in the US, I certainly don't follow his career, but has he even been relevant the past few years besides his coming out media tour? I remember he had some sort of awfully bad single that dropped a few months ago but other than that...????? I just don't see how he fits into the campaign besides the fact that he is a gay man.....I guess he must have a bigger international pull then I realized.
And Nicki Minaj will be joining him in that campaign as well.
EDIT: I know some proceeds to go support AIDS related causes so is Ricky, like, known for AIDS related crusading or something that I am just not aware of??

 Wow, words failing me right now.  So excited that I could have the chance to meet some of you during my trip! Thanks for the weather and packing tips - it's good to know these things. Happy for it to not be too hot in San Francisco as I'm not too used to the heat. It will be warmer than the low temperatures we have had here lately! Snow slowly disappearing. I have sent a message to you Pastababy and to you too SusieFierce. Yes, we're at Disneyland on the 8th - could definitely be an option, if I can find my way around that is. loL. Would love to meet you SusieFierce, Stardust, 8toinfinity and MyS*&@^#r50. Around the next morning too in Anaheim before going downtown for the next two nights (9th and 10th Aug) in LA. I won't be able to help myself in keeping an eye out for you know who there!  Needacoke, Bamafan and Justwishin: Memphis is part of our contiki tour (a reason why we chose this tour :D). We are there for 2 nights (20th and 21st August) but really only have one full day there. I'm not sure if we have much spare time as we have a bit to see there - including Graceland. Might have to ask the travel guide of the tour if there's a window of opportunity when we start our tour and PM you guys on that one. :  Feel very privileged that you guys would drive to meet me.  Only 5 sleeps to go! Can't wait to be in the land of the fierce glittery one!  HAPPY BIRTHDAY SANDYSVA !

Personally, while I want Adam to make a bajillon dollars from endorsements, I'm glad he's not doing MAC, at least right now. He'd never get away from eyeliner & makeup associations.
But I do agree...Ricky Martin, wtf? What's the tie in?

According to the interwebz the only other two men included in the Viva Mac campaigns before have been Elton John and Boy George who I can see why they were chosen. Elton is an icon known for his flamboyancy who also has tirelessly crusaded for AIDS related charities over the years and Boy George is well known for his glam asthetic/makeup usage, plus he is kind of an icon in that respect. So I see the tie in. I don't see the tie in but then again I am not a Ricky Martin expert LOL so what do I know? |
