I was just indulging in the files from last year's concert on p. 1 and read this review. www.ocreloaded.com/concert-reviews/191-adam-lambert-glam-tour-review.htmlFirst Sentence: "You might think that Adam Lambert would be a sweet, conservative boy from his first glimpse of fame as a contestant on American Idol. I thought the same thing, that is, until I saw him live. " This reviewer must be some "far out" chick if she thought he seemed conservative on AI. Sweet, yes. Conservative??? I just had to chuckle. Actually I got the impression that she didn't see him on Idol but that her impression of the show is that it produces conservative performers. She sounds like a pure rock chick who wouldn't be caught dead watching Idol. |

OHH MY.. ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST... I would love to hear Adam singing this song??? I would love for Adam to sing ANY Queen song! Wish Sasha would have gotten this song and rountine instead of Ballroom. :  But she was still very good! |

Actually I got the impression that she didn't see him on Idol but that her impression of the show is that it produces conservative performers. She sounds like a pure rock chick who wouldn't be caught dead watching Idol. This is why it's so great when Adam is referred to as a pop star or singer rather than idol finalist. For those who don't watch idol, it is synonymous with churning out middle of the road, american-heartland appealing singers. If someone isn't familiar with Adam, but he is introduced this way, they are gonna assume he's more of the same. Also, this may be an unpopular opinion, but Adam's performances on the show, while boundary-stretching for idol, and amazing in terms of vocals, aren't "out there" in terms of the real world of pop and rock performers. In other words, if I was to try to introduce a hipster friend to Adam, I wouldn't mention idol at all, and would try to entice with glamnation vids and maybe zodiac show. If they are really into old-skool music, I might throw in some upright cabaret and the best idol covers (feeling good, cigc, tomt, etc.) after this. |
