For those of you wondering what's been wrong with Live Journal, they just tweeted this: LiveJournal Status
We can now publicly disclose that we have been experiencing a large-scale DDoS attack the last two days, which has been the reason for the site issues most users have been experiencing. The traffic load has been immense, at many times our normal load level, and the attack is still on-going. We are in constant contact with our providers to mitigate the attack as best as possible. We again apologize for the disruption to LiveJournal usage, and are working to get everything back to normal as soon as we can. Thank you!Thanks mys*&@^#r50 .  |

If I had known that they were gonna give out numbers in advance and I wouldn't have to stand in line FOREVER and then get a crummy spot, I probably would have gone to Quebec. WHY CAN'T WE KNOW THESE THINGS WAY AHEAD OF TIME?!?!?!?!?  The number thing is nice in the way that many local Canadians will be able to get numbers first. They get first dibs on something in their own neighborhood. |

This DJ rant is great! "Why do we play the same songs over and over?" favlos kyklos we say in Greece.I think in English it's Vicious Circle. I agree, vicious circle is the correct term. The radio stations, by playing only a few songs, have cultivated an audience that only wants to hear those few songs. People who want more variety don't listen to those radio stations. Perhaps it would be possible for these stations to add more variety gradually to attract a larger audience, but it would take time. Another saying is "You reap what you sow." |
