I love this! The two first 'best' moments are both Adam. "Often considered the gold standard when it comes to American Idol performances (and perhaps even the pinnacle of the entire series), Adam Lambert's rendition of Tears for Fears' "Mad World" was so good that he was widely considered the presumptive winner for the next six weeks" "Speaking of Adam Lambert… Katy Perry went to bat for the contestant before the big Season 8 American Idol finale by wearing a cape with his name on it during her performance of "Waking Up in Vegas." While the show attempted to censor the image out of any videos that surfaced, Perry had already made her point. Despite the high-profile endorsement, though, Lambert lost to Kris Allen in what some thought was a backlash against his perceived sexuality. But the runner-up got the last laugh by landing the cover of Rolling Stone just two weeks later to announce he was indeed gay — and six years after that, he was named the top-earning Idol alum of 2015 by Forbes. So, take that, haters." www.rollingstone.com/music/lists/american-idol-20-best-worst-and-wtf-moments-20160405/best-adam-lamberts-mad-world-season-8-20160404

Some very enlightening and thought-provoking comments on the last thread about who might be chosen as AI judges. It's likely that the judges will NOT all be Idol alums. That would be perceived as a kind of tacky inbreeding and wouldn't include a broader range of music business people. I'll bet that there will be one Idol alum on the panel. The likely choices will be Kelly, JHud or Adam. Of the three, Adam has the biggest, most entertaining personality. John Legend would be a logical choice, too.
Whoever is chosen reaps big rewards in media exposure: interviews, guest appearances, etc., not to mention a boost in sales. Adam, please. And good luck to Isaiah!

Read It's going to be Kelly.. could be a rumor.. no matter what ,IMHO Adam will be on AI quite a number of times Whether it's Kelly or not, I do not think it will be Adam. The current social and political climate does not support a regular judge who is, as Adam would agree very left of center. NBC will want to bring in the core AI audience which is overall a little older and slightly right of center as well as attract a new and younger audience. I don't know how they plan to do this but I am sure there is a plan and it probably includes technology and social media. However, it probably does not include having a judge who is about a 7 on the scale from Neal Patrick Harris to Boy George. Adam has never really held back but I do think he was intentionally showing his more conventional side during the TOH era. Recently it seems that he has felt comfortable enough with his success and future to display his appreciation for all the boys and glory in the creativity of the arts. He has never liked being muzzled and I love that about him. I agree with you about Adam being on AI and I do think he will be a mentor. So it's all good.
