But can you still enjoy the quality of his vocals? I think he sounds superb on this. Adam's the only singer where whether I like the song is secondary to the sound of his voice. I was wondering if you feel the same? He sounds good but not even his voice will make me like it or listen it. I'd love it if by some strange twist of fate radio picked up on the song and it became his biggest hit ever - just to spite you, lol !!!

I can't help being a stupid little girl about this and getting all giddy *lol* I looove THINK, the engery, it soooo energizing...like a good morning coffee or energy-drink (although I don't drink either^^) As said by others, for me as well with Adams voice the song itself becomes secondary...the ONLY, ONE, SINGULAR Song Adam couldn't quite convince me on was "One" by U2... And that got totally screwed up with a bad sound mix, during the performance. Even the studio version doesn't do me in like it usually happens with Adam... The Love letter to the LBGQT is fun and beautifully...although I can't help feel a little offended, when Adam gets a bit stigmatized as a "gay Icon"...he can be an inspiration for straight people too!!! People can't just claim him!!! (this is all being said only half serious and a winking eye and I am aware that all sorts of different celebrities wrote a letter) and OH!...stubborn as hell?! That would be me as well^^

Roger is looking good in that coat! Wonder if Adam already has his outfits ready or maybe he'll do a little shopping while in London as well. Fingers crossed for something new and awesome (altho I'd be fine with the painted jeans or the black ripped ones making a return......lol)

LOVE the original version. Adam's version is not my cup of tea Too polished, too clean - the arrangement is kinda sterile... Don't get me wrong, I'm still a big fan. So for me it's hoping for spectacular new QAL-songs and an even more spectacular A4 I also prefer the original version. But, I bet if I was 15, I would prefer this one. If I was not so familiar with the original, I would probably like it better. This is not a song that I can listen to without thinking of the original (and its meaning) and the quintessential Blues Brothers movie version. So that is certainly clouding my opinion of it. > I would really like to hear Adam's raw, unprocessed vocals from this recording. I think the arrangement and production choices probably make much more sense in context in the movie and soundtrack. But the result is that it is no longer a soul song -- it is an electro-music theater song. The original and the later (longer) Blues Brothers versions have back-up vocals, horns and a power soul arrangement. That does not seem likely to make sense in this context. And horns are not really contemporary -- too bad.

Checking in...I'm a Michigan native and of the age (shhhh) that Motown (including Aretha )was some of my Favorite music. I also loved "Blues Brothers" movie as Akroyd and Belushi owned Saturday Night Live in the day--Jane Curtain and Gilda Radner, of course. Aretha and Tina Turner (along with you Adamrocks) were also faves in the era of other soundtracks of my life: Simon and Garfunkel, Carol King, Chicago, Three Dog Night, Jim Croce, and Sgt Pepper and Revolver (Beatles albums of course.). I give this as background to my musical taste back then...Didn't get into Rolling Stones until later.
I can hear Aretha singing Think in my bones. I was a tad worried, but the crazy upbeat version by Adam (yes, Cassie the clearly articulated lyrics) is great. I don't know how he does it, but Adam is the best interpreter of songs that one thinks (pun intended) they know in his own inimical style. Brings another layer to songs than allows one to turn the prism of appreciation for the music. Perhaps that is one of thousands of reasons I love Adam doing Queen.
On that note, I have 2 good tickets in section 101 for Cleveland at face value. DM me if interested.
Thanks again to Q3 (much enjoyment in your new job), Betty for the luscious cakes, and Talon and others for their educational contributions. See some of you in Cleveland!

I posted both that version and original in yesterday's thread. The original is much slower.
