Like many of you, I can't stop listening to OOL. Just finished watching/listening to the Talc version. You clearly hear a girl shout "Marry me!" Dayum!!! First reaction, "He's singing about his pain, and you are shouting something so inane." Then, the delayed reaction. "Perfect irony. Adam could find the girl in the audience and marry her today, no problem, but, in most places in the world, he can't marry the man he is deeply in love with, the man he is singing about with such poignancy." The juxtaposition of the shouted proposal, and Adam's experience in RL makes an incredibly strong statement. The "Marry Me," when he is singing about being Gay and not being able to change infuriates me! I wonder if those people yelling were even listening! >:( I swear, sometimes I think there should be two shows- one for people who want to hear Adam sing and one for people who want to listen to themselves scream. I'm all for getting crazy at a show, but between songs and most especially NOT during his tender, soul bearing ballad. Jeesh.

Buder, I did not get into the fandom until much later. What did Dadbert (Dadalus) say about the armpit? Inquiring minds want to know. He didn't address it directly- IIRC he only posted 2-3 times. We were just falling all over ourselves to apologize for so much talk of lusting after body parts and he said "no worries." I never posted on TWOP (just lurked a lot) but I remember that particular conversation. It was hilarious!

Wow, so much goodness, I don't know where to turn. Happy birthday Seashell and Craazyforadam!!! I also have to try to tear myself away from "Outlaws of Love" to watch the other vids. But I can't. I have the d/l on repeat and it tears my heart out. Such a haunting melody and he sings it with that raw, beautiful voice. The line "Scars make us who we are" jumped out at me right away. It reminded me of a line from "All the Pretty Horses" that stopped me dead in my tracks when I read it. It went something like, "Our scars are there to remind us that our past is permanent." (Or something like that, it's been years and I'm not at home, so I can't look it up.) Also the line "Nowhere to grow old" is so heartbreaking too. So effing poignant. And speaks to the generations of people who have had to hide their loves and their relationships for the entire lives. I did think of those two grandmas who were the first to get married in New York. The song could have been about any type of "forbidden" love, whether it's race, class, religion, etc. So heartbreaking. The girl who started the Glamily trend last weekend lives in Iran. (@adamis4glamily) I follow her and she has spoken very candidly about her country's policies and said she will never be able to see him perform unless she can see him in a nearby country. When someone asked why, she said because in Iran, homosexuality is illegal and he would be arrested. She is a smart, sensitive, beautiful girl and I shudder to think she probably has to adhere to whatever her family's wishes are regarding who she marries and it still stuns that this is a reality to many people. I do think this is the Romeo and Juliet song B.C. Jean referenced.

Jeesh. well, that marry me comment is beyond hilarious and also so right to the point of what cassie is saying. I'm thinking that it's good people are shouting in the vids so the mp3s don't become too good, otherwise people might not buy them. Adam needs to sell records

Sauli would have been visable to him down the fenced aisle way. In fact I swear in on song he pointed down to him, during some lovely lyric. I am sure enough cause it caused me to momentarily loose my mind

OT for all this talk about the concert, but... I thought it was interesting. When looking for concert vids, this one came up, and out of curiosity I clicked on it. Some guy doing CLYG. Pleasant enough voice. An example of why you should not try to sing an Adam Lambert song if you don't have the range, the power, the voice to do. He changes up the melody and drops the chorus down the octave to hit the notes. He turns the song into a pleasant little ballad, as opposed to a heart-wrenching powerhouse.
as opposed to this:

LOL, there was a conversation on Twitter about that. Someone said, "I wish someone with questionable morals would get video of that so we can watch it, then judge them later."
