No spread your wings? Bummer Smart decision. To quote WATC, he kept on "fighting till the end", but the heat really affected that voice of his. He could hardly breathe. IMVHO worse than before/after he got sick in Europe and had to do a show in Germany and in Italy. In fact, sounds-wise this was probably the worst QAL concert I have listened to on a stream. But I am sure nobody at the Hollywood Bowl noticed, everybody were total pros - The Show Must Go On! ETA: Adam at his worst is still better than most singers, but it broke my heart to hear him being flat this often and running out of air, especially after the amazing vocal showcase in Vegas.

I thought it might be the stream I was listening to, but he did sound a little off to me too, but hard to tell without being there in person. I hope he's okay for tomorrow if there was a little something... Will be curious what Q3 and others in attendance thought.

So thrilled when I think of all the people who will see and hear these wonderful consummate performers on this tour, and hear their lifelong songs.
Spreading much needed joy.
kryptoman68 wrote cassie, could you expand on this for us? The effects of heat on his voice? For some reason I have a wispy memory that heat made it better for his voice, but as I said, it's wispy so I might be misremembering.

I thought his voice sounded pretty good on my stream. Only thing I noticed was his breathing. It was like he had been running. It must be hard with the heat and dry air.

Of course, Adam isn't the showman that Freddie wasThis line of the review set me to thinking that in my case that's a positive thing. Now that I love the music of Queen so much because of Adam I've realised that if someone like Adam had been with them from the start, Queen would have been "my" band and I'd have been a huge fan. I'm the right age, I remember them back from the early 70s and I WAS a rock fan. I always liked Brian and Roger but despite liking the songs, I never really warmed to them because there was something about Freddie that turned me off: his looks, (which I know he couldn't help) the rawness of his voice and his stage presence, which I found a little cold (i.e. lacking warmth) and quite overbearing. Not to mention his outfits - funnily enough I thought David Bowie's zany style was wonderful but Freddie's just turned me off. One man's meat is another's poison and all that but because I only got to know Adam via Queen (BBC NYE 2014) and not through his solo work I feel entitled to say that thank goodness Adam ISN'T the showman Freddie was or I wouldn't be here now, adoring the best singer and showman I've ever seen in my life! One of the highlights of the concert for me is Adam's speech when he talks about the "he's no Freddie Mercury" line. He just nails it. I was a Queen fan, but ITA about Freddie and David Bowie. I was never a Freddie fan, but I was a fan of his music, and a band fan but from what I have heard Freddie was very charming, witty and intelligent off stage. Apparently very different than on stage. But frankly, I prefer Adam to any other performer or vocalist - not just Freddie. I can't agree more!!!

He sounded great live. The set list change could also be to make HB2 different.
