Hi all, I don't want to bring the mood down but I have had some bad news recently, My dog Uke is going to have his right front leg amputated, He has a osteo carcinoma. I beleve there is someone here who has a 3 legged dog and was hoping that person would send me a message as to how her dog managed when this happened. And Adam in Black Leather is my Jam So sorry about your baby, UKE. I do not have a 3 legged dog but have had friends who have. Hard to believe, but the dogs do really well. it's like they hardly even notice a leg is missing. Best wishes and luck! ![](http://i770.photobucket.com/albums/xx348/Quu3/Adam%20Smilys/Other%20Smileys/hug-1.gif)

My personal little odyssey has come to shore, clothed again . . .
Home, after the two Hollywood concerts, and San Jose, and Seattle.
Last night, as the sun set, I first flew over Mt. Rainier. What a magnificent statue of earth. Then, Mt. St. Helens. An incredible low view of the volcano that lost its top in 1980. I remember that day. I remember the ash fall - 600 miles away. Then, Mt. Shasta. The perfect mountain visage that used to bring my grandfather to tears when he described it. This volcanic trio brought me back. Then it was dark. And the plane landed.
It's silly to say 'it's over' when it clearly isn't! I'll watch the videos, read the messages, scour the livestreams, in the days and weeks to come. I'm so excited for my friends here, who will be experiencing QAL!! I can't wait for YOUR recaps!
The last thing I want to do is repeat myself, so I'll try to stay away from the words of Hollywood #2 . . . but it will be HARD, because both San Jose and Seattle were spectacular shows!! Each show, each performance, was so perfect, so well-rehearsed and executed - yet, so spontaneous and exciting, that my heart races and my hands shake even as I try to describe them. I'll begin by saying that San Jose is the first time I saw a security guard sing along - and clap at the end of a song!
I brought my family, and friends, to San Jose. We were on the floor, on 'Adam's side' - 8th row. Makes such a difference when those around you are non-territorial and friendly. We were surrounded by them! The sound quality wasn't as pure as Hollywood #2 - but, hey - this is an ice hockey arena, and that being said, the sound and the lasers and the complete set (which couldn't be set up at the Bowl) circled my personal globe with magic. And so I danced! And sang my heart out. These performers invite you in; they don't want to perform for you - they want to perform with you.
Row 8 is about 4 rows in front of the stairs that Adam 'might' descend for 'Radio GaGa'. When the song began I was almost sad - the end was near. I clapped with 'Frank' and sang with my family . . . and then, Adam came down those stairs. He walked over to me and took my hand. And said, "Well, Hello, Darling!". Yep! It really, really happened!! Not a dream. My DH doesn't have a photo because we had no inkling! I remember the feeling of his leather glove; not much else. I'm still "floating around in ecstasy"! Last night, as I viewed Mt. St. Helens, I nodded to my own personal eruption.
Five months ago, I opted to send away the 'big bucks'. I purchased a stage seat for Seattle. Together with my Kindred Spirit, we met in the Emerald City (not the Emerald Bar - altho homage to Spread Your Wings was appropriate). We began with a long-awaited brunch at the famous 'Space Needle'. Our vantage point, high in the sky, included the Key Arena, and, Whoa!!! There were the 17 tour trucks!! Only great company, Bloody Marys, omelets, and the view kept us from spiriting away to the venue!
The Stage Tour and seating is different this time around. It may be due to the elaborate set design and the enormous amounts of equipment. Most of what we saw backstage were trunks; trunks of every size - each labeled so that it would fit into a perfect puzzle, when loaded for the next destination. Scaffolding was neatly and massively stacked nearby. 'Andy' - he of 'Chaise Lounge' fame - was our tour leader. I do believe he's getting a few gray hairs!! No wonder. He's the 'chief carpenter' - and he personally checks out the lift Brian ascends for the guitar solo and Lost Horizon. I believe Andy said it's 2.5 feet x 2.5 feet . . . pretty tiny! I learned that Queen has augmented the traveling crew with folks from each venue's city - to help with the set-up and breakdown. We saw parts of this crew; wearing white hard-hats and assembled next to our little side-stage platform, just before the end of the Seattle show. They needed to load those trucks up quickly - they had a border to cross for Vancouver!
Everyone in our group of nine met the 'lighting director' - Steve Price - who brings the video, lights, and lasers to life in the venue. We also saw his 'preshow banana' - a staple of the tour. Learned that one of the major 'spotlights' was needing care and attention . . . as we walked back through the recesses of the stage I saw a tech working on a huge spotlight with individual lights inside; sort of like a fly's eye. I asked if 'it' would be fixed by showtime, and he replied "I don't think it will be well soon enough!" That being said, I didn't even notice the lack of colored lasers in the Seattle show . . . everything else was so spectacular.
The platform for us was different, too, this time. Instead of being level with the stage, it was placed about 3 feet lower. I had a great view of Spike's knees! But, you go with the flow . . . and they were great knees. I never saw Roger or Tyler - the drummers were out of my view. Others in my group rarely saw Brian! Before the show began, when we saw what our view would be; those who were there 'for Roger' or 'for Brian' or 'for Adam' found their places. We became comfortable and honest; throughout the performance, we moved and shared space and danced. We also saw, and heard, what Roger, Brian, Adam, Spike, Tyler, and Neil hear and see. I loved looking outward. I loved seeing the joy and exuberance and abandon out there! I remember how the lights came on when Brian sang 'Love of my Life'. It began with only a few, but soon it shone as a magnificent sky of stars. The tribute felt like heaven enveloping us all.
One thing I really notice about this tour. It finds the back row. There is no mere 'observer'! The magic reached every single person there, both at SAP and Seattle. Next to the wall, at the highest row, I saw the arms swaying to 'We Are The Champions' . . .
The 'set list' was posted differently . . . technology has caught up! It was on a screen; part of a laptop setup on Spike's keyboard. Nevertheless, he had a couple of paper copies to hand out at the end of the show. I will treasure the one he gave to me.
Key Arena was a maze at the end of the show! Once we found our way, we landed at a bar, and closed it up at 2AM. Couldn't sleep; couldn't believe it was over.
I wonder if I will ever really grow up and beyond the emotions of youth. It felt like the day after Christmas. Still happy; still wondrous; but done . . . grateful, and already longing for the next surprise.
There's one thing I've really learned, watching from the stage. The performance depend upon YOU. Our idols come out ready to give us everything they have. But, they need the energy we provide to send them spinning upwards. Otherwise, it's just a perfectly executed play; dance. With the audience, it becomes an adventure; a foray into every aspect of emotion that every song longs to convey.
What I think is blowing QAL away right now, is that the audience is bringing them to the level of performance only attained when the audience belongs and participates and, with abandon, gives their naked all - - -
Believe me, it's a beautiful thing!

I hope all goes well for your precious Uke.

For those of us who attended the Phoenix show you have some bragging rights. You survived the heat in a month that broke a 130 year record.
Mom what a great recap! Of course Adam remembered you, you beautiful thing. And I'm not talking just about the outside but your beautiful spirit too '

Red Panda - Is this what you're looking for? "OK, we can go down now Frank. I thought I would give you guys a little head. ... It's an all-service facility here at Queen." By the way, I think that for the Hollywood Bowl shows Frank had to be wheeled onto the stage because the structure didn't allow for the trap door option. Peeps who were there could confirm if this is correct. Yoshimi @riddle601 2h2 hours ago Killer Queen in Vancouver 2017-7-2 youtu.be/QKb4c5hDEKQ via riddle601b
