He really went for it on that last run, didn't he? Need to hear it again in videos. You can hear it at the end of this periscope.. www.pscp.tv/w/1dRKZAdZNEgxB starting at 1.04.20. It sounds like he was going to go for it, but his voice cracked or wasn't cooperating, so he stepped it back down, to my ears anyway. I didn't want to harsh anyone's mood, because Adam had a great night and his voice was in fine shape. But, since you said it, I will confirm that when he reached for the F5 in full voice, he overshot the force and his voice cracked. A very rare occurrence, but it happens to the best singers.

Do you mean he went beyond the F5 note, instead of just hitting F5, which caused his voice to crack? Do you think singing those 3 songs in a row might have affected what happened? Yes, it's very rare with Adam, but he's only human.

No. To both questions. That F5 is at the top part of his range. He could easily hit it if he floated it in head voice, but it would not have the right punch and power. He was singing it in full voice, head plus chest. It is insanely high for chest voice. He has to balance it perfectly with just the right placement of the tone powered by just the right amount of breath. Too little breath, and he cannot produce the note. Too much breath and the note cracks. Think of it like skiing on crusty snow. You need to have skis the right length to support your weight, with the right edge to not catch or grip on the ice. You have to have built up the right amount of speed. Too slow and you break thru the crust. Too fast and your skis slip out from under you and you fall on your ass. It sounded like he applied a smidge too much "speed". Singing those three very challenging songs in a row would be taxing physically. But he sang them with the correct placement and support, and did not strain his voice. I think his voice cracked because he made a slight misjudgment in technique. And, possibly, he was tired from singing and performing so full out for over two hours. But, really, his voice was so on point all evening from what I could hear. Nothing to worry about! It was a command performance.

Just to add, singing as Adam does is very demanding physically. People may think, "but he is just standing there during those songs. He's not moving or dancing." But singing correctly with the right support requires very fine use of muscles throughout the head, throat, chest, abdomen and down into the groin. I recall in one interview Adam admitted that sometimes at the end of WWTLF he is actually shaking from the effort it takes.

So quick question to those who could listen. I see they moved Spread Your Wings up. Did they still play the You Take My Breath Away Taped intro before WWTLF? And secondly since I didn't hear of anything else, I assume that after Bo Rhap and for the encore they simply did WWRY/WATC? I hope that's not a full time thing. I kind of liked the 3 song encore - something to open the encore with before WWRY/WATC... Yes they still played You Take My Breath Away before WWTLF. Yes after BR the encore was WWRY/WATC. Thank you!

I am awestruck that Adam can sing those three songs in a row -- in Denver. Maybe he is an alien!! Me too. He is a wonder.
