Hey Cassie, you've touched on something I have often wondered about. Adam does have a large chest and as you say, not the typical desired "pin up" guy shape, and I wondered if that was a contributing factor to his powerful voice. It makes sense to me, as he has lots of room to breathe. Very cool point, thank you! The shape of his chest influences his sound, without a doubt. This is mainly as a resonator. Take Monte's electric guitar. If you pluck a string with it unplugged you get a very soft, flat tone. Kinda a "plink." That is because there is no air cavity to capture and enhance the sound vibrations. The acoustic guitar has a hollow body construction, and you can hear a richer, fuller sound. Even when he uses an amplifier to run the sound thru a speaker in concert, the tone of the acoustic is much more mellow than the electric. Now, consider the acoustic bass guitar that Tommy used a couple of times .... maybe in "Unplugged." It looked just like a guitar, but it had a rather ginormous body. That body allowed the bass frequencies enough room to roll around and sound rich and full. If you put bass guitar strings on a regular acoustic guitar, it would sound dull and plunky without that extra space. Adam's tenor voice is the result of the shape and length of his vocal cords. But the richness of it, the fullness of it comes from the large chest resonance. The brightness and lightness of it comes from the head resonance. He has some wonderful body cavities for singing. (Don't even go there with whatever else you were thinking!) Does it allow for better, fuller breathing? I don't know if his lungs are actually bigger than the norm, tho I would not be surprised. But, it does allow for strong, large muscles that control the breathing. Just another tool in his arsenal. He still has to know how to use all that resonance and breath. And THAT is where he excels. Thank you for the further explanation. This makes total sense to me and puts into clear words the vague idea I had in the back of my mind. You're a real treasure to have at Adamtopia, among many other treasures here, as you've taught us a lot! Many thanks!

Flecking Records, the UK publication that champions Adam, has a new article out called "Why do you love Adam Lambert?" They are asking fans to explain in the comment section and will quote from fans in writing an article. Here's your chance to mention all the good things about Adam. www.fleckingrecords.co.uk/2011/08/why-do-you-love-adam-lambert.htmlI'm going to enjoy reading these, and I haven't even gotten past the first one yet. Here it is for those who haven't checked it out yet. Norma Teabo I'm going to be 80 next month and I want you to know that I am obsessed w/Adam like I haven't been about ANYONE in many years! He has awakened feelings in me that I was sure were long dead. The reasons why are too numerous to squeeze in any small space because there's nothing small about him...not his beauty, talent, compassion, graciousness or any other adjectives that might try to define him. His main attraction is his "NICE" ness! however, we would have never seen this w/out being drawn in by his extraordinary talent. It would be easier to list what I don't love about him...NOTHING!!!! If there is someone on thread who does all that twittering tweeting stuff, I think Adam would be touched and flattered to read all the comments. I know he gets letters etc all the time, but.... Plus, the more he reads about why he is so beloved, the more that reinforces the behavior we love, right? Maybe someone who follows his family and friends could also send them the link. They would be tickled for Adam, don't you think?

So many gorgeous photos from Canada! Thank you to all of the photographers and to all of you who have been embedding here! I've been licking loving this photo for the last few days! Something about the combination of the sweat and the raised arm in this one just does it for me!

Personally, I never tire of hearing that I am loved and why, whether it's from hubby, a relative, close friend - it doesn't matter - and not that it happens often, but when it does, well...it makes my day very special. My Vegas friend just turned 60 this week and one of her gifts was a personalized letter from me about our friendship and what it and she personally means to me. She opened it last and said she can't stop reading it and that she's going to put it in a safe place and pull it out and read it from time to time. THAT made me feel special and glad I took the time to express my feelings to her. She's a keeper! (and she loves Adam, too! )

That was an old blog I put up on ALF- I'm pretty sure I posted it here at some point as well. I just love him so much and am sort of in awe that he even exists.
