I wanted to do my recap in the train, but wanted to sort out my pics first some. Internet in the train however is not working with me on that. So here are a few thoughts from last night!
The show was amazing, although not without troubles. Saw Adam signaling a lot and very obvious and clear also. The crowd however was the loudest I've ever experienced! They were so loud and appreciative!
I first had a ticket for the first bowl seating, but later found a ticket on the floor which was 11th row, 3rd from the catwalk (or so I thought). It turned out to be 10th row and 2nd from the catwalk, but during the concert I wasn't in my seat but at the barrier the whole time! We asked when we got in if we could stand on the barrier, but the security told us you can stand at your seat, but not on the barrier. However when Frank was making his way through the screen everybody stood up and rushed to the barrier. So the empty seats you might see next to the catwalk are probably because of people who are standing at the catwalk. Although there were some seats left open in my section the arena was mostly full it seemed.
As mentioned before the crowd got going during Another One Bites a Dust. I talked to the guy sitting next to me about Queen and Adam and he asked me if Adam was still doing solo stuff. I told him that he toured last year and that they were doing one of his songs during the concert as well. After Hammer To Fall he asked me if that was Adam's song! And he claimed to be a Queen fan. So I guess most people don't know Hammer To Fall and Stone Cold Crazy very much. They do however know Another One Bites the Dust! There went a roar through the stadium and people on the stands also stood up.
Fat Bottomed Girls after that get's the concert going for sure! Everybody singing along.
There were more songs that got big roars from the crowd, but one other song stood out and that was I Want To Break Free. That song got such a big reception! I really see why they keep that one in the set. Even though it makes me sad I'm not going to hear It's Late or Spread Your Wings now.
Killer Queen is so lovely on Franks head. I got a couple of nice pics from that. Even though I miss the chaise lounge and throne a bit. Adam just loves to give us some head!
During Adam's speech a man shouted loudly: I love you Adam! So nice! Adam got cheered at a lot also when he came down.
Two Fux also got a great reception! I told the Queen fan who was standing in front of me just before that this was Adam's song and after he told me that it was a great song! And I must say I really love it live! I sung my heart out on the song and it could be that I wasn't completely in key as the Queen version is slightly different than the studio version, but that didn't matter! Loved it!
When Brian went to the beginning of the Catwalk he got cheered on so much it took quite some time before he could start his song. I think he got quite emotional. The crowd participation during Love of My Life also was wonderful. Lot's of lights.
Get Down Make Love is damn sexy. I tried to video the moaning together with the wailing before I Want It All, but after about 1.5 minutes the guy behind me asked me to stop so I didn't record the big notes Adam pulled out just before I Want It All. How he does those I don't know, but the crowd loved those!
The air blows during IWIA are not on the catwalk anymore. Also during the front catwalk section they added a box on the side of the catwalk to extend the midsection a bit so Brian has more room to move.
Tyler is a very good drummer. Loved his drumm battle with Roger.
Before they did Somebody to Love Brian and Adam did their play where Brian has lost his guitar again (even telling the audience that he had to look stupid) and then they went and tried to find Adam somebody to love. It's a nice touch and attributes to the playfulness of the concerts.
The fun these men have on stage is so great! The joy that radiates from them is so catchy and is the best thing about these shows I think. Adam is such a great place during these concerts even though not everything goes as he wants with the sound and stuff. I've got a few great pics of him smiling, but haven't been able to upload them yet.
Adam didn't go full out. Even though he did some big notes during some of the songs he stayed lower in Who Wants To Live Forever and Radio Gaga. I hope he can give his all tonight again! I've never done two shows in a row so far so it will be interesting to see how that goes.
This post got a bit longer than I though, but the train is almost arriving now at the station so I'll post some more about it later!
It was lovely to meet
Avari and her daugther before the concert! So glad your DD liked the show!
