They did not disappoint the diverse audience comprised of parents with their teenagers and long-time Queen fans. And plenty of Glamberts were there to support the former American Idol contestant too. Seeing Queen's songs live, performed on a giant stage, underscored why the band continues to resonate with younger generations. "Fat Bottomed Girls" turned into stomping monster of a dance number, thanks to thick, roping rhythmic grooves; "Stone Cold Crazy" was an upbeat, punkish strut; and the soaring, classical-glam epic "Don't Stop Me Now" illustrated why Queen's music was adopted so easily for musical theater. "Bohemian Rhapsody" was predictably epic—not the least because guitarist Brian May made a grand entrance, rising from underneath the stage on a platform while wearing a silver cape—and drummer Roger Taylor even got into the vocal fun by singing lead on "I'm In Love With My Car," which exuded proggy, Pink Floyd vibes. Yet Queen's meticulous attention to detail wasn't lost despite the arena's vast size. The band's trademark stacked harmonies elevated the muscular yearning of highlight "I Want It All" and the theatrical standout "Killer Queen." For "Somebody To Love," Lambert, May and Taylor performed together on a small stage at the end of a lengthy catwalk, as if they were a band jamming and woodshedding in a small rehearsal space. And the sleek synths augmenting "Radio Ga Ga" made the song feel like a thoroughly modern pop song, not a tune that's over 30 years old. More...

Mini-recap from "the house that LeBron built" aka Quicken loans arena in Cleveland. I took a co-worker (Adam concert virgin) or rather she drove me, and we met Babs12 and Sandysva fresh from their concert in Detroit. Rumor had it that Q3 and SophieB were on the opposite side of the thrust, Sandy saw them. [insert personal highlight] Guess who has the pink flower from the flower bike??? Yes, me. Now, I have to admit that Barbara dove for it, unleashing her competitive spirit, and unselfishly presented it to me. I was the object of much envy as we walked out of the arena. For any newbies, Babs 12 and I met at an Adam concert 9 years ago, and although I live in Pittsburgh and she lives in Louisville, we have a great relationship and many shared memories both personal and concert. We four shared a room fulfilling 2 Glambert concert "rules." We kept the cost of lodging down and waxed poetically about concerts and our other concert pals from Atop, squeeing with unabashed joy.
So we wound up two rows back from the barrier, at the end of the side of the thrust, which was dumb luck, as there was never a true seating chart for the floor. Around us was a proud papa who sprang for VIP tickets for his large Italian family. He was so excited to share Queen with them, he literally shook with joy as he moved up and down their row making sure everyone didn't miss a thing. Beside us we're two (drunk) virgins, who did not realize we were not in a stadium or the Blues Brothers bar. Fortunately, they moved to the barrier ( read "shoved") their way to the front of the barrier, but not before spraying beer and epithets and general mayhem. There are always a few. However there was an age 45 or so couple from Pittsburgh behind us and we did the usual concert sharing. They were there for Adam, but had never seen him with Queen. They were flabbergasted at how Adam has grown since his solo tours. It was the usual mixed crowd age-wise and I'd say about 40% for Adam. It was PACKED.
Since we were at the end of the thrust, we could see all the facial expressions of Adam, Bri and Roger. Their relaxed interplay ( as others have mentioned) is so natural and comfortable it throws bolts of joy into the crowd.
Quick note: after the first complete round of the drum battle which was exceptional, Roger got all ready to play again, and just hit the cowbell once with a boyish "gotcha" expression on his face before settling into the 2nd round. My co-worker who has loved Adam since Idol, was totally overcome with the power of Adam's voice, the special effects and lighting, and the spryness of Brian and Roger. Babs12 and I danced and sang and clapped throughout at appropriate places. The crowd was respectively raucous (if those two words can go together), and the applause was long and deafening right from the beginning when the two were together.
Everyone was speaking about the spectacular concert, loved Adam, and the complete satisfaction of attending a remarkable event as we exited and made our way back to the hotel. Over and out!

That was wonderful! Wish I could have been there with you all. So tickled you got the flower! Was sweet of Barbara to give it to you. Lookin forward to a maxi recap! lol

These kinds of tweets are always my favorites. Written by people who are not Adam fans or are just neutral about him. THEN BOOM!!! They see him in all his amazing glory! They are amazed, astounded, aghast! And they become Glamberts! Each one of these QAL shows in "money in the bank" for Adam, and I don't just mean cash. Hope some of these new Glamberts pay attention to Adam's own new music and give it a listen.
