A nice review of the Mohegan Sun concert from Queen Online Message Board: My son and I had been to the QAL show in 2014 and he went again with me last night to Mohegan. The second time around was even better. This was a glorious show. The special effects and the lights and lasers were mind blowing. I have seen Maiden, Priest, Ozzie and other groups and they pale compared to this show!! My son even agreed with me. He did not go in as a fan in 2014 (of Adam) and he thinks now that he does an amazing job. Queen has it down to a T, it is as close to perfect as a show can possibly be, but that does not make it Broadway, as many of you always say. This show is a rock show! There is nothing wrong with presenting a show that runs smoothly with amazing singers and an amazing vocalist. People were in awe of Brian and his solo and selfie stick, which is so much fun in the context of the show. People did not depart for the bathrooms!! Nor did they leave during the drum solo. We as an audience are lucky to have such rock icons still playing in a show like this! Folks in this audience were thrilled to see the skills of Brian and Roger and it was a privilege to see them. Who knows how much longer they can do this? The songs were great and I don't think the two dropped songs were missed, as most folks didn't even know about them. I would have loved to hear them, but they played for about 2 hrs and 15 minutes or so and I got more than my money's worth. The rock into was great. Adam is much better at SCC and the other intro songs. He can now sing deeper and it makes it more credible. KQ was a delight, as was the Bicycle. I know many of you detest it, but it just works and folks love it. You could tell by the whisperings and the huge applause. It is just a fun interlude with a nice campy feel. My son had not heard TF, but felt it was very much like Queen's music and that it had a place in the set list (that surprised me!). A lot of the audience knew the words and the applause for it was huge. I am not sure that some of them knew it was Adam's song, although I feel like over 50% of the sell out crowd was there for Adam and I talked to many, many people. My fav is WWTLF and the lighting with the huge disco ball spinning out "stars" and that voice, was just amazing. The applause for that song is thunderous. I love Adam's and Brian's matchy outfits of which there were several. My fav was Adam's silver outfit and Brian's silver clothing with the silver bat cape. I also loved the matching black outfits. There is just so much to love about this show. Everything has been thought out and they perform 100%, there is not this idea of, tonight we will let it slide a little. That is not in Queen's vocabulary. They give their all every night. Videos don't do the show justice. There is not a jarring, doesn't flow moment in the show. This is a show that you can't critique by watching a video and I know, most of you don't get it. But as my son said, it is like reading about a drink and thinking you know how it tastes, but you have never taken a real sip! It just doesn't work. You guys are missing out!!! Everyone around me and the many folks I talked to into today, all agreed. I didn't hear one negative comment!! In this world that is pretty unusual nowadays! I want to do it all over!!!

Hey guys! It was me who wrote this for Queenonline! I was surprised about all the angst over Mohegan and casino shows and whether this one was not well received. Just wanted to post a clarification. I saw Nicca (??) posting that there was not much participation and I also saw that tweet. I had asked my son about that one yesterday while we were still at Mohegan. We thought it might, perhaps, have been sarcasm, as otherwise it made no sense to us. Everyone around us was rocking the lights out and it looked the same in back of us and the noise level was huge. I saw The GAGA interaction and I thought the band was received with lots of love. I am quite short, but I don't think I missed the fact that this was an off show for whatever reason! I am quite short, but my son is over 6' and he thought the audience participation was great.
I just called my son to see if he felt anything was lacking in audience reaction and his opinion was the same as mine. The noise level was huge and people seemed to be loving it. It was an older crowd, I thought, and maybe at other venues it is a little different. Every time there is a casino show the same stuff shows up about comped tickets, etc. I have seen Adam/QAL shows at Foxwoods and Mohegan and they do not seem any different than the other venues that I have seen his shows at. The audience is smaller for the most part, but the noise and the love was off the charts. Everyone I spoke with loved Adam and all the Queen guys. It was a resounding success.
Adam did not go for all the huge notes and cut a few notes off, but maybe he doesn't need to do all the riffing, etc. His voice to me was magnificent! It has deepened a bit and is stronger and more beautiful than ever. My son thinks he is an absolutely amazing vocalist. Sometimes things don't appear to be as dire as some think. It is really hard to hear well on a video and not everyone posting sees things the same. For me this was the "BEST EVAH'" as they say up here!
