Yesterday? (July 27), much of the discussion focused on some of the general views of Queen purists and many of their continuing lambasts of not only Adam as frontman but also of some criticisms of Brian and Roger's choice of Adam as frontman. I was unwell yesterday, and I just wanted to add a bit of information that I have located regarding Brian and his comments on Adam's voice.
Girldrummer: "...Adam's voice is extremely good, better than Freddie's in some ways. Even Brian and Roger have alluded to this. This must be very painful to the purists, like an act of treason."
Talon: acknowledges that Brian has noted that Adam can sing higher than Freddie but notes: "and for the record, Brian and Roger have never said Adam's alluded to (sic.) Adam's voice being better than Freddie's..."
Thelambertluvva: "I don't remember where, but I remember Brian saying that Adam had the best voice he's ever heard. Does anyone else remember where he said that? I remember it because it jumped out at me."
I remembered it as well. Here you go:

Replacing a singer under any circumstances is always a tall order. But stepping into the shoes of arguably rock's most charismatic frontman, Freddie Mercury? Despite near impossible odds, Queen's partnership with Adam Lambert has hit all the right notes. The band's legendary guitarist Brian May gives their current singer highest praise,
declaring "[Lambert] has the most extraordinary voice I've ever heard."
"That says a lot because I've heard a lot of voices in my time,". May adds. "It's an extraordinary instrument, and he's learned to control it and harness it during the time we've worked with him. Sometimes, I just stand and watch, and my mouth drops."
