Yay, hi there relatively new fan, welcome. Yes, please share how you discovered Adam because we love to hear Adam discovery stories. I would love to share it  . if Adam had not released Sleepwalker from GN live DVD to promote the DVD here in Germany, I wouldn't be here in this forum now. They played it a few times on the musical TV channel. I liked the song and I was like "Is this really live", I had heard no one else singing live like that. One day I realized, that i had not heard Sleepwalker for a week or two, but I really wanted to listen to it, so i searched for it in the Internet. After a few days I found myself on Youtube watching the videos from the GNT, AI and started to watch a few Interviews, realizing that he is nice, humble, charismatic, intelligent and honest with a beautiful eyes, which probably made the difference between "I'm a fan" and "I'm listening occasionally to his music" I knew WWFM before Sleepwalker, it was a hit here, but I had prejudices against pop-music and thought Adam is "just another pop-star, with an album packed with meaningless songs, all sounding the same". How wrong I was :-[ Till today Sleepwalker is my favorite song from FYE and I'm wondering why it has not been released in more countries to support the DVD. |

Now I've watched it three times and love every second of it. Perfect. He looks great in the video clips and all the photos; he's been a cute kid and a gorgeous young man. He sounds intelligent, articulate and funny, with a touch of self-irony at times. How perfect were the two clips of him one maybe at 10 explaining how he enjoys performing in front of audiences and the other one later on about how he wants to become a broadway star and if he could perform all his life he'd be a happy man. It's wonderful to see how he's really been all the same thoughout the years and not a plastered-on persona. Being gay has been his struggle and he's managed to turn that into a positive aspect in his life, nothing to be ashamed about. The sexuality issues IMO were tied in a very relevant way, not blowing anything out of proportion. Just one part of the man. He is the living "Trevor Project", one that has visibility, followers and a voice. People listen to him, he's all over the press all the time with a "theme" that is his life. I hope a lot of casual fans or people who do not know anything about him will watch this. So brave. Especially in the light of the AMA's & Hicklin... He must've been scared s**tless, and yet that hardly showed in his interviews and performances at the time. And the music & singing. It's there, but I only started paying attention to that on my 3rd time... Thankfully, a lot of great clips and various styles. Excellent mentions: "find a worldwide star; we've found that with you", "he was a star the minute he went on the show", "he was built to do this", "sold out arenas around the world", "GNT huge success", "WWFM earned his first Grammy nomination", "finally the star he always wanted to become", etc. He has claimed his spot in pop culture & music history. And the best is yet to come!  At work but had to share for a minute. My sister is a sitter for a woman who is a retired college professor--she's 82. They watched the BTM together last night. My sister called me this morning and told me that her client was now a total Adam fan and wanted me to please make a CD of his music because she was so distracted watching how articulate and well spoken he was that she couldn't concentrate on the music that was played. YAY! I asked my sister what her client thought about him being gay--and she said her response was--what's that got to do with anything. He's a great singer. I actually teared up. So, I'm recording FYE and his acoustic album. She will not know what hit her. LOL. ....and Happy Birthday everyone.  |

Slighty OT ~ Been to Chunkey's site and saw Cheeks apperance on Torchwood.  Thank you for this! I don't get Starz. I keep hoping Brad's scene will show up on YouTube but I haven't been able to find it yet. Watching BTM last night, I thought again about how weird it must be for Cheeks to see his picture splashed across the TV screen without any identification other than "an ex-boyfriend of Adam's." He's achieved anonymous fame--or famous anonymity. While I'm on the subject of Adam's lovers--I hope being with Adam will help Sauli with his panic attacks. Adam seems fearless. I've never had actual panic attacks, but I'm prone to avoiding situations that make me uncomfortable, and I've found that when someone else forces me to do the things I'm afraid of, I get braver. Sauli obviously had public attention before when he won Finland's Big Brother, but not at this level, and maybe the repeated exposure will help him get over his panic attacks. |

Morning all! Like most of you, I was up way too late berting last night. I should change my name to Tiredbutsatedlion. I'm putting this out to all you creative people with tech skills. Wouldn't it be fun to take the four vh1 clips and combine them into another part of Behind the Music? Clips of IIHY video and the Queen performance could be included, as well as a sampling of Album Covergate headlines. And of course, examples of the way female fans love Adam...(but NOT the "marry me!"in the middle of OOL.) |

I think people are taking Sauli's words too literally. He's not having panic attacks but is usually just telling a story and all story telling uses exaggerated expressions. He told on Big Brother in 2007 that he had had mild panic attacks before but not anymore. It's a common expression to say that you panic even if you don't actually get a panic attack. I don't think people have to worry about him. |
