This is so strange. No jet lag would keep Adam away from Terrance's birthday party, I'm sure. If he could perform, he could just the same go and have a drink with his friends... Maybe he had something work related early this morning? That party appeared to be at someone’s home, Terrance has had a lot of family in town this weekend including his mother. None of the usual crowd seemed to be there. There will be a party that includes all the available usual posse one night soon. Ah! That explains it! Thank you  |

 ....hahahaha pattihum is uncharacteristically mum ....busy with real life....or composing....or being discreet/honourable re celebrity and student lead conversations. Nothing else to say, really. I didn't go up to Adam. I just can't. It is too awkward. I know 2 glamberts who did & he was sweet and gave them a hug. Thanked them for coming. I get really shy around him. Speechless! LOL! Oh...actually I was more interested in ...if a comment or so about Adam came up during the table conversation or after he sang. Yah, unless we bumped into each other (LOL) I would not have forced a meet/greet. I am assuming bama and my "agree" was more in jest. (Not only do I think bama and I kinda look similar, we think similarly at times.  ) It was more, just wanting to know about Adam comments from your table/in general. But as I said...a table conversation goes in many directions and with students seated with you I would think a lot of the focus would have been an them. sorry for all the edit changes! |

The Glamberts I was with and I moved up a floor level so we could see the stage better. There were 3 empty tables, so we moved for the performance. Really no comments but our own. I will say that the audience got very Very excited when he came out & many non stans were videoing him, probably 100!  Despite what many "fans" say, Adam IS a big star & it is a big deal to see him at an event like this for people! |

 SophieB, Stampsgal and I should have been at Patti's table. We would have been very "engaging" LOL (probably a good thing we weren't there....just speaking for myself :D actually SophieB is a tad more reserved in person  ) Plus our necks would have been strained staring at Adam's table for all those hours....lol Yep....fat chance of that table going unnoticed! I'd have been hiding under it...  |

I wouldn't say that it's too far fetched to say that Adam wouldn't miss Terrances B-day party for a "light reason", or that it has anything to do with projecting ones own expectations. Holly and Johnny were there too. But yes, they probably connected and will celebrate some other day. I thought about Adam picking Pharaoh up as well.
My concern would be that I wouldn't want to bother Adam too long so I'd probably prepare a small letter with a few nice words and hand it to him in a quick "hi".
Or may as well be way to shy and nervous to do anything^^
"Whats up" is really growing on me...

What fun to compare this version of What's Up with the one nine years ago. Some things I noticed:
This one is pitched a half tone lower than the 2008 version. It gives the song more heft.
Adam's voice also has more heft, more fullness, more richness in lower harmonics. More chocolate. His voice has really matured.
This new version is rougher, with more anger, less fluff. Sorta like "What the fuck is going on?" as opposed to "Hey, what's up?"
The band gives it a much more rock vibe. I didn't care for the band, TBH. Too much drum banging, and little subtlety with the guitar. But, after getting used to Brian's masterful touch, my standards are pretty high.
Yes, I do think the light high parts were sung in falsetto. Not crazy about that. With his voice being so rich these days, the switch to this light, weak tone is jarring to my ears. I listened to the original version, and the female switches between belting and head voice at the same places Adam switches, so he is being faithful to the original intent, I guess. But, I think if he flipped to his more resonant head voice instead of falsetto the switch would still be present, but not so strange. A matter of taste, I guess. He sang the falsetto with more confidence than at times in the past.
Lots of fun to hear the development of a master vocalist from then to now.
