Isn't Iane Pirie used to be the President of 19E? And also Adam's manager? I guess he's handling the artists from 19M, Pia, Haley & Durbin. I agree with you .... poor Lane . Unless Adam has enough money to hire her as his PA Yes, Iain Pirie managed Adam (at least in name) and he is still with 19 Entertainment. The deal with 19 and Red Light is for Co-Management and 19 is still the public face/artist management contact for the 3 AI10 finalists they signed. I do not think Lane wants to be a PA -- that would be a big step down. If Adam hires a PA, he needs someone not from 19 IMHO. And hopefully Lane can move on and up. All I know if the I am so happy Adam is no longer managed by 19, and did not go to XIX (Fuller's company) which is where Roger is -- which is turning out to be mini-19M with a small artist roster. Adam needs to be with a management company that can do real global management. With 19 Adam had to rely too much on Sony/RCA. Direct has expertise in this area because of Katie Perry and they know how to put together a tour deal. I am not ANTI-19 and think that they did a great job for Carrie, Cook and Daughtry. IMO Kelly would have been better off staying with 19M. The only surprise to me is that Daughtry left 19.

Well, to be pragmatic, Adam is going from a very large management company (19) to a dramatically smaller company. I believe someone here said it was maybe ~ 10 people. I seriously doubt that Adam could "bring over" someone like Lane unless the company concurrently decided they needed another employee. I seem to remember some tweets a couple of weeks ago asking why Adam had 'fired' Lane.....were rather trollish but it all dropped quickly from what I saw...what was that about? [shrug] I'm guessing the tweets probably occurred about the time Adam's new management contracts were being finalized (but not yet announced). Lane was therefore being metaphorically "transferred back" to 19 at that point...and her name came up with the Idols tour verus being with Adam. Probably frustrating for Lane, but a job with benefits is a job with benefits, particularly in this day and age. Plus, Adam doesn't need a full-time PA right now, he's still in album mode. Anyone who has bills to pay can't be expected to sit on their hands for months. James Durbin may not be Lane's dream job, but ya know (rent, mortgage, etc). Again, just being pragmatic. In any case, Lane did a great job with Adam, and if/when circumstances change, who knows? They may still manage to wind up together again. No bridges burned on either side.

I find that tweet insulting to Sauli. :-/ And insulting to Lane and Adam at the same time. Lot of insults packed into one sentence.

I find that tweet insulting to Sauli. :-/ Well I found it insulting to Lane...that sort of thing was Neil's job. ;D ETA: Because of the winky emoticon in there, I took the tweet in the humor that I believe it was intended. The concept of the two of them together on tour is sweet. However, I seriously doubt that Sauli will ever stand in as Adam's PA. [evil grin] Nonetheless, based on an early Sauli interview where Sauli confessed he was a neatnik, he probably DOES frustratedly pick up after Adam! #betSaulinagshimtoo!

I really don't find it surprising at all. Adam signed with another management company and that company's job is to take care of his professional and personal needs, largely. You don't usually bring your old management to your new management company. The only case where he might do this is because he really liked Lane as a day-to-day manager. DMG likely said, "We have that covered." And like Hoppers said, "We don't need another employee right now." Lane has proven her loyalty to 19 and she was probably in a position to yes, being essentially a PA, which Adam may not need at the moment, or be on the path to an executive position at 19. Q3, I don't get how Red Light cannot be affiliated in some way to 19. Why would they be handling daily matters of people contractually obligated to 19 if they were not at least contracted? And why would 19 employees be listed as handling Red Light clients?

My question is, has there ever been a contestant who was not picked up by RCA (this year is first for UMG), but still kept on with 19? I know Allison was signed by Jive, then dropped, but 19 still held onto her. (I wonder what's going to happen with that now that 19 appears to be getting out of the management game.) I don't think so. From what I recall is that those who don't get a record contract, don't get 19 mangement. Hmm....what happens to Allison is an interesting question.

Deleted mine, Lulu. HSM comment: Hey guys - if you want to self-moderate, that's fine. However, the original comment was obviously meant as a joke (winky emoticon). No need to fall over yourselves with apologies. Truly.
I really didn't see anything bad enough for you to beat yourselves up for. Now if you like that sort of thing, be my guest. I'll be watching from over here.

"Q3, I don't get how Red Light cannot be affiliated in some way to 19. Why would they be handling daily matters of people contractually obligated to 19 if they were not at least contracted? And why would 19 employees be listed as handling Red Light clients?"
In the official 19 Entertainment press releases about Pia, James and Haley, it was referred to as "co-management". That is the exact word that Shirley Halperine used in her news report about it for THR too.
That could mean anything but as of now, the calls about the co-managed artists go to 19 (they are the external contact), and the administration is being done by Red Light. That is all I can figure out.
Regarding Adam and Lane -- my bet is that if Adam wanted to keep Lane, he would still have Lane. Same for Roger. They fact that he severed all ties with 19 Management looks like a smart move to me. He needs a management team who can audit 19 and Sony -- and who has no split loyalties.

citygirl36 Nadine Durbs auditioned season 8 as well? Lol :RT @baking4fun Lane t.co/tPX5CtD5 minutes ago Favorite Retweet Reply Oooh (not a good ooooh) With a dream to make it big, James previously auditioned for American Idol in Season 8, but was not advanced. Returning for the season 10 auditions, Durbin advanced through Hollywood week and into the top 4. Tagged with the line, 'Give Metal a Chance', Durbin shined with his performances of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" as well as "Heavy Metal" and later on the finale alongside British heavy metal band Judas Priest. Continuing to be an inspiration to his fans, his fianc Heidi and son Hunter keep him inspired and he keeps them close to his heart while out traveling with the American Idols Live Tour. Currently exploring options for a record label with WIND UP Records, this is indeed not the last we will see of Durbin...especially if his fans have anything to do with it. If Simon's stil with Idol for AI10, I doubt he would let Durbin advanced as well. Simon would say all kind of mean things about him couldn't hold a note .. and way of his mimic and not original. Randy was only saying what's the producer wanted him to say
