James auditioned for Idol in 2008 -- he did not get selected. He was not part of Hollywood Week. Hollywood Week is broadcast and we saw everyone. --- James Durbin told the San Jose Mercury News he auditioned for AI8 but he never said he went to Hollywood week. IF Idol had video of Durbin vs. Lambert from 2009, we would have seen that at some point. Would have been great for ratings. Also, if Adam had met James in 2009, I think one of them would have said it -- probably James. With respect, I disagree. We didn't see all the 147 contestants, in other than in a possible group shot (where they wandered around the stage in wonder). BEfore the live rounds, we saw maybe 50 people altogether. People can, and are, edited completely out in Hollywood week. Remember Lacey Brown from season 9? She advanced in S8 till the final "rooms of doom" round, but for her whole "journey", we se a half a second of her, in the background of the persons being shot. James could have advanced till the second day, even through group rounds, and been completely edited out. I'm not saying that he was, only that it's possible. I also don't think that it's a valid argument to say that if there would have been a "rocker vs. rocker" situation, it would have been televised and because it wasn't shown, it mustn't have happened. It could have, and still not be televised, as it probably wouldn't have sat well in their plot of "Christian values versus new, edgy & scary". I do agree with you that if Adam and James would have met/seen each other during Hollywood (even sitting in the audience, watching as the other contestants perform), they would have probably said something. Or rather, James would have said something. Adam has no reasons for reminiscing who else were there with him before the top 13. They are all in the group shot -- but perhaps James missed it and was backstage. Hollywood week is broadcast and we saw video of all the Top 72 contestants. James was not in the Round 2. (Check the video -- they showed them all in their 4 group rooms being nervous.) For Round #3 -- when Adam sang "Believe" he was paired with Matt Giraud. Both advanced. That only leave one round that could have involved James -- Round 1 when there were 147 contestants. He would have to have been in the first 40 cut -- because we know the 107 who made the second part of round 1. And many of the first 40 were shown. Round 1 is only one missing Adam performance from Idol -- most were groups of 8 singers. But some were head-to-head. We just know that the producers decided not to broadcast it and just passed Adam on to the next round. So IF James was the singer that was paired with Adam....we have to believe that: Adam singing vs. James was boring -- I think this is almost impossible to believe. We also have to believe that ----- The producers put Adam in a Round 1 head-to-head vs. group of 8. James never mentioned he got to Hollywood on AI8. James never mentioned he met Adam before the AI10 Adam performance show. Adam never mentioned meeting James before. That when James said he auditioned for Season 8 but did not make it. He actually meant he only made it to Hollywood Week. And -- and this is the most difficult to believe -- the Idol producers had tape of 19 year old James Durbin singing head-to-head vs. Adam and they never chose to show it on AI10. Way too many IFs involved in this for me. But I will add my own --- IF 19 year old James was on stage with Adam in Round 1 of Hollywood week, and IF it was still a secret, and IF we saw the tape, Adam and James would have both made it through to the Top 72.

Now back to business I know about Birmingham and Manchester and Liverpool, I was watching the news closely :( We also had a real mess in London, I saw the burning of stores and the riots in Brixton with my own eyes , it was really really terrible and sad, I hope your family is safe. :-/

Gelly, I love ya, and I'm glad yer back, but.... to the thought of that rose tuxedo. That bow tie and hair make Adam look like a dork. I know that was the "frosh" idea and all, but still. :D

Cassie and I just had a wonderful time at lunch today and talked about a listening party when Adam2 drops (always a good excuse to have a party). So guys, mark your calendars for the weekend of Nov. 19. We chose that date just in case the album is delayed but we both think Adam is an astute businessman and he would not want to miss black Friday. It could also serve as a pre-Thanksgiving party. We are so blessed to have Adam and each other in our lives.
Smokey, hope you are finally moved in by then. We can host more Atopers that way. Call me when you are in GA and you and your son can come over for dinner some nights when he doesn't have a lot of homework.
OT: I am watching the PGA and one guy, Keegan Bradley, caught my eye. He is tall (6'2"), slim, dark hair, very fuzzy arms and killer blue eyes with very thick long lashes. He just turned 25 last June and he and I have the same birthday. No wonder I like him a lot - he is a darn good player too! Reminds me a lot of BB in looks and the way he carries himself. I hope he wins - presently is at -5 only 1 behind the leader.

Okay, I'm lost here. Whoever said that Adam and James were paired? According to James' bio. HE DIDN'T ADVANCE. Meaning he wasn't in Hollywood week. From my perception, emmuzka was just saying HAD something like that happened, it's possible we wouldn't know about it since not everything was aired. Not that it did happen. That was my take anyway.
