OT but since peeps have mentioned "slide rule" (and tapping impatiently hoping they fix what is preventing the live stream and to think I took a long nap to be ready) Here is a ditty I used to sing in college sang to an Elvis tune I believe - something to do with teddy bear? Does someone know the song? Can't remember now, such a long time ago, ;D).. Baby let me have, a darling engineer, Put your slide rule on my neck, and lead me anywhere, Oh let me have, an engineer. I don't want a lousy lawyer, Cause lawyers talk too much, I don't want a nerdy doctor, Cause doctors know too much, Oh let me have, an engineer. Apologies to lawyers and doctors - they are fine, I have several in my family. And of course, I married an engineer!

A microphone like this was used in the American Idols Tour book but in those photos Adam is wearing a black fingerless glove. The hand and ring look like a pose from the album shoot. Can this be photoshop? On the top it says screen capture so I thought it may have been from a video. And Bonnie Lamrock seems to be a glambert and MJ fan. Other than that I'm really not sure. But if Gelly doesn't know the pic I guess it could be photoshopped. reihmer I'm honored that you say this about me , BUT I never knew what was on that book from the Idol's tour, not pictures, not any info about Adam so MAYBE it is from there? ??? Oh and JazzRocks GREAT AVI!!!!

My first computer was a TI99-4A. It also used a cassette tape. I learned my first flavor of BASIC on that thing. I actually used punch cards for my first few weeks learning FORTRAN my senior year of high school. It was the first computer class they had and the monitors/keyboard didn't arrive before the year started. My first PC was a clone and did not have a hard drive - it was pretty fancy with 2 floppies! You could have your software on one and your data files on the other Very first hard drive was 10MB and I thought it was HUGE and I couldn't possibly use that much space! OMG, you sound just like me, pjd ... I started out with a TI99-4A .... chose that over the Commodore at the time because it would hook up to a color TV ... so "moving up" to a real PC was a step backwards into the monochrome world! And my first real job (with Goodyear Tire) was pulling punch cards from a huge tub file for running thru tab machines to produce invoices. The first real computers I used at work were the dual floppy type, but the first one I bought for home had that HUGE 10MB hard drive! And I never did fill it up! We've come a long way, baby! ;D

Remember Lotus 123 and Wordstar? Yup - I LIKED Lotus 123. Actually, I liked CricketGraph even better. Excel STILL can't do stuff like multiple x axes as easily as Cricket. Miss it. WordStar not so much. Was a big fan of the DOS version of WordPerfect. Had all the keystrokes memorized. Never used a mouse, ever, and it was so much faster than the later windows version!
