Getting to see Adam, Sauli, and mom two nights in a row looking great and actually TALKING, plus receiving the equality award last night makes the fact that he didn't win okay. Getting to see a proper picture of him and Sauli from tonight will make it more than okay.

He was invited to present at a very visible event. He has passionate, loving fans who got him added to the voting and thus more visibility. We got more lovely pictures. I'd call the day a win! Yes! He wasn't likely to win against Gaga or Beiber. But he was there, looked great and got a lot of attention. It's a win!

Wasn't GaGA suppose to be there? We heard nothing about her tonight. Not that I care. Well....I really thought Adam and his fans deserved to win the Do Something Award but, heck, he wasn't even on the ballot until his fans voted him on it so we can be happy that he was there and recognized for his contributions to others. And we got to see him in a fierce outfit giving out an award! So all is good. (Trying to sound positive here but I'm not going to lie....I am disappointed.) :(

Just for my own satisfaction, what has Boober done to win this award? [tranquilly licks her karmic kreme lolly] He has elventy-billion fans who are too young for full-time jobs and yet old enough to use the internet for hours on end. Adam wins where it counts. This award doesn't change the fact that numerous kids have school supplies and hundreds of people now have clean water who didn't have them before. The fact that Adam is there IS the recognition. YES. and I'll take a Karmic Cream. Sounds lovely. The hair tonight...looks like the character out of a Christmas special I remember from my childhood. He is such a freak. ILHSFM

[laugh] I forgot the Bieberliers were fighting the Little Monsters! Guys - I gotta be honest. We probably got within spitting distance of getting Adam the win. However Adam doesn't [yet] have the sheer numbers of either of those two groups! Its ok. I have faith he'll get there. However, it still doesn't change the complete awesomness of his accomplishments. Proud of him (and us too!). Love y'all!

I appreciate your keeping the old standbys around, HSM. Certain flavors never go out of style. ;D ETA: Hold on iluvfun... [sticks two lollies in a glass] The one with the white stick is salted and the one with the blue stick is unsalted! Yay! The white stick is the one for me. Salt junkie. The more I sweat, the more he licks it off. More Pleeze!!! LOL.

I think we all sorta knew it was a very long shot for Adam to win this one. Just the sheer number of fans Bieber and Gaga have would make this popularity contest impossible to win. Like others have said, it is remarkable that Adam's fans got him added to the ballot at all. A major coup, and major recognition.
There are so many "awards" these days that are driven by fans with the ability to vote an unlimited number of times. The results of such polls and such awards say more about the fans than the celebrity they support. I'm sure such polls are great marketing for the organizations and businesses that conduct them. Generate great numbers to show to advertisers. I think of the latest finale of Idol, where they received over 100 million votes. That's not much less than the 131 million votes in the 2008 presidential election. Of course, the difference is that 131 million individuals voted in the presidential election. How many individuals voted in the Idol competition????
I want Adam to get critical acclaim for his music and his causes. I want him to get the recognition of his peers in the music business. Yup, I want the Grammy. The other stuff is fun when he wins, and frustrating when he loses, but has little meaning beyond getting his name in news articles. And getting us hawt pics of him making an appearance.... which ain't all that bad.
