Regarding Brooke's wedding - I'm sorry I forgot who mentioned that it might be this weekend. I know it's weird and wrong, but I'm excited by the thought that Adam might be up here in the Bay Area this weekend!!!! Well, if this weekend is Brooke's wedding then I guess we know where Adam will not be.....LOL .. At KK's wedding extravaganza.. ;D.... He will be able to safely attend Brookes wedding all the paps will be at KK's circus |

Oh, man, I hate that wording--"she doesn't agree with homosexuality." It's like saying that Hitler didn't agree with Jews, or the Ku Klux Klan didn't agree with blacks. Bigotry is much worse than just being politically incorrect. It's hateful and dangerous and yes, ignorant. I hate it when people try to make it sound as if all opinions are equal, and that people should be tolerant of intolerance. Well said! I am going to use that if you don't mind. When I read "agree" I thought, "WTF is there to agree or disagree with???" You framed it much more articulately than I could. Thanks. |

Hi, all. We had house guests for the last 3 days and I was unable to come to my fave place. If you can, what is the Cliff Notes version of recent happenings? No biggie if it is too much to recount; I'll go digging through the threads. Adam showed up for the Equality awards looking stunning. Posed on the red carpet holding hands with Mom and Sauli. Got roped into singing Mad World impromptu with Kathy. Watch the YT!!! Sam Sparrow gave a great into to Adam, they had a nice pre-recorded intro with Adam saying words at the end, then Adam had impromptu speech where he called himself a "weird fucking fag" and promised to continue to be so. (To the audience's clear delight.) Sunday Adam showed up for the Do Something awards looking stunning. Discussion ensued which stunning was better. Comments were about 50/50 on whether they loved the heavy makeup Sunday or not. Consensus was the blue-green troll hair was great. Adam said words to several interviews including saying that his fans were gonna be crazy about the new album (he didn't say crazy, but I forgot his term). ETA: Bieber won the award Adam was nominated for. No surprise there. Today Adam tweeted a YT of Bachmann on Meet the Press where they pressed her about some very prejudicial statements she made about gays in 2004. She equivocated and spouted non-statements in response (obviously pre-written for her). In Adam's tweet he called her "ignorant". Most people agreed with him, it seems. Those were the highlights. You do need to go check out YTs this time. Good stuff there. |

Oh, and RCAEd confirms that Lane is no longer with Adam. And makes a wonderfully snarky comment about working with Adam one day and JD the next. tee hee.

I'm going to fess up to what I did this afternoon after being totally disgusted with Michelle Bachmann and those who watch that video and see no problem with it. After years of being very active in politics, local, state, and national, I got sick of it and now limit my participation to informed voting. I sent that video with my (fairly pithy, honest, maybe hostile) evaluation to many of my email contacts. That included a few pastors at my old church, lots of seriously (and I don't think homophobic) Christian friends, and anyone else I thought would be anything other than downright hostile to MB. The responses were enlightening and mostly in the category of "Oh my God, I had no idea." There was only one that semi-agreed on the homosexuality is a sin idea and I made sure she remembered that 2 of her three children are living with boyfriend and girlfriend respectively without benefit of marriage and that is FORNICATION according to the Bible - lots of places in the Bible. Two years ago I would have allowed this vid to pass with a shake of my head, but for lots of reasons I can't do that any more. Ignorance IS bliss until it hits you in the head with a 2 x 4. Maybe it seems shallow to many, but to me, Adam's rights are worth fighting for. No lectures on the bigger picture of the whole G & L community, right now I'm just looking at the snapshot and it gives me plenty of motivation. I did the same thing today. I emailed it out to family and friends and I hope I get a response back. If I don't...I will email them again and ask their thoughts on this bigoted woman. Once I would have shook my head at her but would have done nothing but not anymore. I'm feeling enough is enough! Adam has truly made me realize that this is a civil rights struggle right NOW and I won't be silent anymore but I will call out the homophobic bigots and make them accountable for their hurtful words. Had 2 phone calls in the last hour, one from my sil who is diehard Republican. She said she didn't like MB anyway, but that was nail in coffin. Didn't ask who she was leaning toward, none of my business, but at least MB word will be spread in her circles. |
