OMG!!! I missed that. Where is it? What did Adam retweet? I tweeted him (in response to his Michele Bachmann video and tweet) this pic and said, "This kid's expression says it all." [Hoping to get a laugh out of him.] And luckily @telldebatz RTed me and said, "lol" and I guess that made it so he saw it again, because he RTed her tweet. Oh I saw that and laughed my head off. I didn't realize it was an Adam retweet of your tweet. WOW!!!

I'd love to continue this discussion about the way Adam talks about these things, cause I find it really interesting, but unfortunately I've gotta head off to beddybye. Nightnight, Everyone.

Susie and midwivespal and rihannsu I get your points (I was typing at the same time as midwivespal's great explanation of the drawbacks of "born this way", and the freedom of "lifestyle" instead), and I think that this is most probably what Adam means, but I don't really know because we haven't heard him explain it. I just feel like it would be great to hear him talk about in his own words sometime, and fill in the blanks. Otherwise when he responds to someone who dismisses being gay as a lifestyle choice they don't "agree" with with the same word, I'm not sure that they, or other people listening in know if he's using it in a different way. ITA that it would be an excellent interview question for sure. It would certainly bring another level of understanding to those see only one dimension of living an out and proud life. This conversation reminds me of that famous Oprah show where she profiled the phenomenon of "straight" men "living on the down-low." It was revolutionary at the time because I think there were a HUGE percentage of the population that had never heard of it. (I know I hadn't.) For those who hadn't heard of or didn't see the show, it was about this culture of self-defined "straight" men who were usually married and living and otherwise straight existence, but just like to recreationally hook up and have sex with other men. The men interviewed were VERY candid, but were somewhat unilateral in their insistence that they weren't gay – as Oprah kept suggesting in the face of their denial. (Like dude, you like having sex with other men yet you say you're not gay or bi ...) The primary interviewee kept defining gay as a "lifestyle" and insistent that he wasn't gay because he wasn't in that "lifestyle." Of course, the BS meter was raging off the charts and pretty much the entire audience was rolling its eyes while they listened in rapt disbelief. Oops, never made my conclusion. I guess what it reminded me of is the way some people can compartmentalize and convince themselves that they are not one thing or another because how they see themselves isn't consistent with their preconceptions of that "other world." Love your point MWP about having someone like Adam listen to her descriptions and have it seem completely foreign because it's like, "What you're talking about bears no resemblance to my life and who and how I love ..." LOL, Cassie, I'd say Adam's achievements this weekend were a LITTLE more crucial, but thank you!!

I find it intriguing--all the foundation makeup discussion today. He almost always wear very heavy foundation for events, appearances, performances, and interviews. I wonder why today people are noticing/discussing it. The extra lines on the eyelids were new, I believe. But the foundation looks overly heavy, as usual, to me. I always notice it, but I've gotten used to it. I've gotten use to Adam's makeup style as well. Though if it were up to me I'd cut back on the makeup and only use a dab here and there and let Adam's natural beauty shine. But that's just me.

I am both pleased that Adam tweeted that Michelle B video and called her out, and although Adam is not clear my understanding of the Bachmann de-gayifying process is that you can be gay as long as you do not engage in any homosexual thoughts or actions. So Adam's follow-up tweet was confusing but let's not take our eyes off the ball -- Michelle B and her heinous husband have spouted anti-gay hate for years, but she was not willing to stand behind what she has said. She has the right to say this nonsense, but every thinking, decent person needs to call her out for trying to fool people. Finally, perhaps Adam was referring to Michelle's bondage comment.

Personally I have always thought that the whole lifestyle/preference vs hard wired gay was a trap that the LGBT community fell into which serves the anti-gay lobby very well. It is a straw man arguement at best because in reality it really shouldn't matter whether it is predetermined or a choice because the objection to homosexuality is purely based on religious belief which should not be allowed to curtail anyones freedoms according to our constitution. It is an even more ridiculous distraction from the true argument than the Pro-Life vs Pro-Choice debate. In both cases the true argument is about who has control. The same people who argue against government regulation of business are all for government regulation of people. It's bullshit.
Never could figure out why they think they are going to stamp out homosexuality with laws since they've never made a dent in Adultery.

Yes, I think the question mainly came about when you contrast Saturday's look with Sunday's. He looked glowing and flawless on Saturday and his makeup quite minimal. I get that he may have been wearing more on Sunday because of TV, a late night and a breakout, but the difference was somewhat pronounced. Since whats-her-name, the new makeup artist, tweeted about doing his makeup yesterday but did not on Saturday, some were speculating he did his own on Saturday and if that's the case, he should do it more often. It was A+++
