My paper had this blip today.
The big KISS off
The band KISS has been dropped from October's Michael Jackson tribute show, organizers announced yesterday, noting that KISS singer Gene Simmons had been critical of Jackson for years.
Pay back's a bitch isn't it? Karma anyone?

I don't really know what usually happens right before and after album release, but I saw people planning vacation around this date (yes, twitter peeps, icu,  ) and I wonder if I need to prepare too.  Prepare, create, and love ;D Hahahaha. I love a girl who plans.  Just hearing about a release date makes me feel happy and flaily. I can only imagine how I'm going to feel when there is a confirmed date and that date approaches! As usual, Adam articulated it well. I will *devour* that album because I am apparently STARVING. (I have watched Adam and Kathy three times already-and, I have to say that watching it makes me giddy) ETA: I seriously am planning to take the day off so I can flail with everyone here. RL has been so busy this summer, in a good way, and I haven't been able to spend as much time here as I like to, and I miss you all... but so fun getting to have coffee the other day with mys*&@^#r and her adorable grandson, who is as full of personality as his grandmother. |

Releasing it abroad a few days before the US release has me a little lot worried about it being ripped. :-/ You mean that those who can't wait will get it illegally over the weekend, which would lessen the USA sales on Tuesday? I don't think that it would have that much of an impact. The core fans will purchase the physical cd in presale. some of them who would purchase the songs from iTunes in addition to the CD, will probably now just download them illegally because it's the only form awailable, and then "forget" to purchase them later. But is this such a large group that it's enough to dampen the sales? I'm not worried about the fans, and it' the fans who can't wait. It's the fans who *want* to commit and pay, and even purchase songs in different formats. They'll download first, then pay later. (I'm a big believer in fan commitment ) I think that most of the illegal downloading is made by "general audience" that downloads songs that they already want and regognize. This is the group who has the power to make a dent on sales. Still, the regular illegal downloader will probably only download the radio single, and those persons woudn't probably pay for the songs anyway. |

Twitter news about Adam #2. Still tentative, but nice to actually hear something official!  RT @adamnews_de: The latest Sony Music International Newsletter for Germany announces Adam's new album for the 4th November at the moment. Of course, there's no title indicated yet. Also, there's still plenty of time for changes so that this date isn't set in stone completely. As soon as we get further information we'll keep you updated. What a nice thing to read first AM!!! These dates are usually accurate. And Friday 11/4/11 lines up with the date we got from a large retailer of 11/8/11 for the US. I am secretly hoping for 11.11.11 ---- I am sure Eber would pick that. I know it is one week later but what a beautiful date!! Regards, Q3 ETA: This will be a global release and that usually means that UK/Europe is Monday, US/Canada/Asia-Pacific Tuesday. I think this will be a Monday release -- the charts still matter. 11/4/11 is a Friday. Unless they have a strange promotional plan -- that points to a 11/7-11/8/11 release. I bet on 11/7/11 GLOBAL release. All synchronized. The only reason to release on 11/4/11 in Germany is if they were doing some special promotion. |

Did anyone expound more on this 20 song rumor from the other day? I was kinda confused as to what that meant exactly. Not that I won't take everything with an iceberg of salt or anything, but I was curious. Thx =)

I think it was referring to the short interview Adam did at Equality where he said he's done 30-35 songs?

I'm FLAIIIIIILLLLLLIIINNNGGG   The songs have been previewed long before the release by then. I had my official download the Friday before the Tuesday release of FYE (I was on a cruise that weekend and was listening to it the whole time and it was my iTunes d/l) and IIRC, our Amazon presale CDs came the week before the CD actually dropped. When I was at the "Tonight Show" on 11/13, we got the extras of "Master Plan" and one other to d/l. Four days is not going to make a difference, especially if it's standard practice for Germany. |
