Wow indeed! I popped in thinking it would be another slow, no-news day. Then what to my wondering eyes should appear... but great wedding pics! Adam looks great. Love seeing Adam and Sauli in love! And cheers to Tommy and Liz Anne! (I hadn't known they were a couple.)

So there is some interesting "debate" going on right now via Twitter about whether or not taking these pics of the wedding from the public facebook was ethical or not. Some are indignant that a line was crossed and are clutching their pearls I'm sure (after they looked at the pics of course.....but I'm sure they hated every second of it lol) while others are like "Duude it's fine, it wasn't ninja'd from a private facebook it was public!" I was wondering what ya'll thought of this issue? Does it--in your opinion--cross a line or since it was public is it okay? As far as I am concerned, my view is this....this is the INTERNET. If you put something out there then it's out there. If you don't want people you don't know to see it....then don't put it out there or lock that shit up. Of course this doesn't mean that the less scrupulous fandom ninjas won't break into yo shit but still. It is what it is. It's 2011 and there is almost no such thing as privacy. Much less for a celeb. But whatever....I am not gonna lose any sleep over it. I just think it's an interesting discussion. YMMV At this time, any pics posted on a public FB are fair game. They were not hijacked. However, if Adam requested they be removed, we would do so.

Public or private? The lines have been blurred. It is easy to say, "Nothing posted on the internet is truly private. If you don't want others to see it, don't post it. Period." This is just my own opinion, but, I think that is a bit of a cop out. I think it is somewhat similar to one's personal journals, way back when. If I have a personal journal that I keep in my own room, underneath my underwear in a drawer, the fact that it is not locked in a vault doesn't mean it is fair game to be read by my punk brother, or by anyone visiting my home. The same goes for my photo book on the bookshelf in the living room. I may choose to haul it out and force friends and family to peruse it, but if they pulled it out on their own while I was cooking dinner, I would consider it an invasion of my privacy. If the guy installing my dishwasher pulled it out and made copies of it, it would be a huge violation.
I think that it is fairly obvious when items on the internet are intended for a wider audience. People write blogs. People post to forums and discussion groups. People send mass tweets out to the universe. To me, that is obviously public. But, when people post on their personal facebook, I don't make that assumption. I assume they are sharing with the people they have chosen to friend, not the general public.
Having said that, I eagerly poured over all the new photos of Adam and Sauli. What I believe is morally right is not always what I do. And I justify it in my head that it is already out in cyberspace everywhere. There is no taking it back. That doesn't completely silence the little voice in the back of my brain, tho.
ETA: I think Adam is smart enough to know whenever he is in a place with a bunch of folks, some of whom he doesn't know, or knows minimally, pics are gonna be taken and leaked to the internet. He may not like it, but, he knows the reality of the situation.

I think she's a proud new mother-in-law, hyped up and happy to let people see that the famous Adam Lambert attended her son's wedding.

However I do sometimes think people may not fully understand the dynamics of fandom and/or the fact that posting pics that are tagged can be found. I love the pics, wallowed in every one...but did have a moment of 'poor Adam, nothing is private' (right, click save)....

Yes, and it's not a case of forgetting to lock this particular album, her whole facebook/status wall over time is public too. I'm hoping that this was a choice and not an oversight (though I would be surprised if a family member or friend hadn't pointed this out before). If it was an oversight I would feel a little bad about it, though. Though having frequently been expected to look at baby pics and wedding pics of people I barely know for social politeness reasons, I do understand that proud mamas often want to share with the world. I was more bothered by the pics of Neil's girlfriend from her public blog, even though that was a similar situation, I guess because it was too many steps removed from Adam who is a public figure, and Neil hadn't publicly identified her? I see my hypocrisy though.

Is it just my computer or is anybody else getting image X for some of the pics being posted? I'm, also, getting X for people's avatars. ETA: I'm greedy I want to see all the gorgeous Adam pics!!
