After years of my family and friends not being into Adam Lambert, I won't say I made a convert of my best friend, but I asked her to watch the Candy Shop. She spent 3 hours watching the videos on YouTube. I feel proud of that. WOW! Good job dotsgirl02.

He's such a great guy. The number of people using words like "nicest," "sweetest," and so on is heartwarming. Not just today or yesterday, but again and again, wherever he goes and whomever he meets.
And to think, he was once framed as the "bad boy" on Idol, despite having the sunniest disposition, being actively generous towards his fellow competitors, and giving such a humble, grounded reaction to the audience and judges' response to his performances. All of the genuine goodwill towards Adam as a human being over all these years just shows how flimsy and wrongheaded that forced label was. It used to drive me crazy when Idol watchers and the media said, "Well, the nice guy won." Adam and Kris were (are) both sweet-natured guys. As Simon said: "unusually, incredibly nice people." And he's still that same incredibly nice person who keeps winning over hardcore Queen fans and media alike in what has to be, on paper, the most thankless role in modern music: taking Freddie's place. Not only does his talent win them over, but so many reports talk about how genuinely humble and honored he is to be there, and you can see that in his speeches and in his demeanor towards Brian and Roger. His light really shines through all the baggage people keep wanting to hoist onto him. <3

I don't know where this particular recording is from, but I can so imagine Adam being in that role as a child. Just listen to this kid sing in that recording: 'I won't grow up, I won't grow up...I don't wanna go to school'....and so on. Crystal clear and spot on when it comes to vocals, and then the responses from the group and that one other kid, a bit flat in tone as well as overall vocal impact, definitely 2-D, and a bit shouty too, or as one might say, quite ordinary. This is how this must have gone down with Adam in that role. Just take a listen. Oh, and a big thank you to Cassie and Angelina from me too. I am not quite done listening yet, but I am sure I will enjoy the rest too, when I get around to it.

After years of my family and friends not being into Adam Lambert, I won't say I made a convert of my best friend, but I asked her to watch the Candy Shop. She spent 3 hours watching the videos on YouTube. I feel proud of that. Only three hours? ![YeahThat](//storage.proboards.com/3270318/images/RfwtF1tw1GZcfktDYoRF.gif) I remember the phase when I started googling Adam and how enthralled I was ... I think it was even after Idol had already wrapped when I found out about his pre-Idol performances at the Zodiac Show or the Arts 4 Life "Crazy" ... Later on, as I was unable to attend any of the Idol concerts (I couldn't make the local one and it didn't dawn on me that I could actually travel to a different one...duh!), I kept getting heavily immersed into the Bowie Medley, thanks to all the YT videos available. It was just one treasure after the other from then on haha. Presenting the "Candy Shop" to your friend was a bold move, dotsgirl02, and you raised the bar now! I must admit though, after nine years of being a fan, that I find Adam the most appealing when he doesn't try too hard to be sexy... he's got it in spades naturally and "less is more" for me in general. But that's just me. I realize that Adam is who he is and sometimes he just can't help it ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

It was the outpouring of love from people who really know him as well as a bit of reflection...may be I just want too many things for him and also his heart. Back to Idol a little less than 9 years ago, I think it was all about the "guy liner versus the guy next door" hype. That chapter has definitely concluded for me as so many exciting things have happened since then. But it is fun for me to revisit all those amazing Idol performances here and there to grasp why I become such an ardent fan.
