As far as I saw this was only speculation from some news site. And yes he is hot at the moment as he had the biggest hit last year. But seeing as they casted mostly good singers so far that speculation might be based on very thin ice. I really hope they announce Judas soon though. Just to get rid of all that speculation. No idea when though. Tonight is the Super Bowl and next week the Olympics will occupy most of the news. I am literally shocked that that song was the biggest hit of any year. I don't hear anything special. It is just because it's Spanish? For me Despacito is one of the hottest songs to dance or Zumba or work out to. I really like the Latin vibe and I loved the song instantly, but strangely enough until just now I never cared enough to learn about the artist behind the song. Not that I want to plug this guy as Judas - my fingers are still firmly crossed for Adam - but on the upside I am happy about an "All American" success story that will hopefully continue to put a spotlight on Puerto Rico This guy, just like Adam, has been singing all his life btw.

SO excited that Adam is back on the listing of Edge publicity...I hope it means we will get some news soon...(not that we didn't get a tour announcement yesterday^^)
re Bieber: He does have a good voice, he can hit some notes, don't be fooled! That said, no he is not the most consistent live, dancing and singing at the same time are not his strength, but he does do well acoustically. I wish he would take some lessons with a teacher that gets him, his singing sound's a bit squeezed, pressed. I think there would be A LOT more in for him vocally if he had a better technique.

IMO He is a better vocalist than that song reveals. He is a very well-trained vocalist and performed as a classical vocalist. He can sing the songs. He is also an actor. Luis he has a lot of fans and would be a big draw -- particularly Latinas. (And 17% of the US Population is Hispanic.) Plus his has his second cross-over, global hit. The producers said they wanted to cast recordings stars for this production -- and so far that is who they have cast. But Luis is big now, and brings a new audience. *** This seemed like speculation by a NY Post writer but it seems like it makes sense. 'Despacito' just hit 1 billion streams on Spotify, Luis' profile is really high, 'Échame la Culpa' with Luis and Demi is moving up charts all over the world. Grammy's and so on -- it would generate a lot of buzz for the program. If he doesn't get the part, my bet is that it will be because he/his management does not want the part. *** If Adam gets the part, I will be happy for him and watch. I just don't think he is a big enough star. I think all the stuff we can see is Adam wanting to get the part and be in the mix. It all reminds me of Adam and Idol Judge spots. If Luis gets the part, I will not be surprised. IMHO,I think Adam is big enough .. Having looked up Sara. Barriellas. I would put her in the same league as Adam in the U.S. ,Adam being better known around the world , and Sara better known for song writer.Brave and the musical Waitress. I also think Adam may be too busy to do the role of Judas. To add I have watched every musical on TV and just want to say nothing has really endured.. They come they go.. A couple of standout performances but nothing epic.. Adam might just be the epic one if cast. I agree with you -- so far there has been nothing epic in these 21st century made-for-TV musicals -- I have watched most of them but admit I could not finish watching Peter Pan it was so dreadful. I have consistently thought this was not that big a deal to Adam's career - one way or the other. But I appreciate he clearly has wanted to play the part for years -- and has said so. The ratings for these musicals are declining so they will probably want to cast someone big for Judas. I think Luis ticks a lot of boxes and would look very appealing to the network. Is Adam as well-known as Sara Barrielles? -- yes, I think you're right. But that's really not the question that the producers and network face. They have a lot of roles to announce/cast still and Judas is the big one. >> I see nothing that makes me think that Adam has this part locked up as I keep reading here and in other places in posts. If I had to deliver an audience of 12+ million viewers and I had to choose between Adam and Luis, and IF I was a network exec not a fan, I would choose Luis. It's not about getting great reviews, it is about getting great ratings. ** In the meantime, I think Adam is doing what he really should be focusing on, his new album. That is hugely important to his career. I believe being a really successful recording artist is probably higher on his professional goal list than being in this one-time TV musical production.

I can't get the site to load lol Things that make you go hmmmm and points to the above post... Possible, a rash of IG activity a few days ago (as he does when waiting around an airport or bored), Another batch last night. SS commented about a busy Saturday and worded the tweet in current tense, so not as if this was from the LA visit. She noted those shoots were Legend, Cabello, and Tedder. There is also DNCE in the mix during that visit. It is possible he made a quick trip for photos.

I don't think that anyone is questioning Adam's ability to sing rock opera or the songs in JCS. We know he can do that. And it is not about fame, it is about building an audience. Luis Fonsi (in part because of Justin Bieber) had the biggest hit of 2017 -- in the world. Adam has nothing like that. It does not matter how Luis got to be so big, he is hot right now -- and not without fighing a lot of battles about Spanish language discrimination in the U.S. Music industry. Who knows what will happen, but one thing is certain, network decisions are made mostly about getting an audience that appeals to advertisers. And that is women aged 18 - 49. Fame and diversity in the cast will help build a bigger audience. All we really know is what NBC has said: Robert Greenblatt, chairman of NBC Entertainment. “Casting has just begun, but we want to fill out this classic show with as many recording artists as possible to give proper voice to what is the original rock opera score.”
*** Adam's ace on this is that he is the current frontman for Queen -- gives him unmatched rock opera credibility. It's a big asset. Catch is, this is a U.S. production and Queen is not well-know in the U.S. by people under 50 years old, the target audience. And as a a recording artist, Adam just has not made a huge impact -- and he is still mostly associated with American Idol. As vocalists, I think Luis' voice is too soft and light to shine in the part of Judas -- and Adam is the best vocalist on earth for the part. But I am not doing the casting. Plus if I was Luis' management, I would pass on this, but I am not his management, and most managers would push for it. Finally, it is unfair to judge Luis' vocal capabilities by the hit remix. He can sing -- not like Adam but he is a classically trained vocalist and has a lot of recording success in Latin music prior to his megahit. Here's a YouTube playlist of Luis singing. www.youtube.com/watch?v=suxOBud1AOo&list=PL03IUOIQGTBu3yQ11-Y5RpUWmYiTs847u

She did? I follow her & do not remember that. I do remember Adam fans speculating on who the shoot was. My guess is it was DNCE because there were many feet in the pic she tweeted. Pretty sure Camila was in NYC at the time Shosh was in LA. ETA: NVM. Found it. TY! twitter.com/shoshannastone/status/954118311922622464

She could very well be in LA still.
