I so hope that A&S go to the BM! Even for a couple of days! and I also hope that momtomany and the other Glambert that I know is going (and used to post on PF) would bump into him and have a laugh together Bringing from the yesterday's thread: hmm..i don't know, I don't think I would be able to handle it if Adam premiered his song on some major awards show. I think Adam does better when he sits with a song for a bit, and don't' jump on me, but I think Adam gets a bit nervous doing big performances, and don't' think he needs the extra pressure. I think Adam interestingly enough has come to acknowledge this too. I've said for a long time that the AMAs was Adam's version of stage fright which of course drove people crazy because "Adam has said he doesn't get nervous anymore." Well Adam has changed his tune and in hindsight even used nervous to describe his feelings at the AMAs. I'm not real fond of any event for a single premier unless it's another fan concert or maybe an outside morning show when the crowd shows up just because he's there. That infinity symbol and the crowd feedback loop is so important. It's not that he doesn't sell it well, it's that as an observer, a neutral audience just doesn't give him anything to work with. No wall of sound, no crazy arms at the edge of the stage. People need to be up against a barrier, jammed packed together, and not sitting politely in their seats. AI appearances are always the exception to this rule. Last night my TV got turned while America Got Talent was on...someone was singing...EVERY note was off key, the voice was screeching and utterly unpleasant, at the end there was a scream that made the Gokey scream into a glorious singing.... my only thought was - "wow, that's all they got to show?".... and then I hear the judges saying these words" - it was AMAZING!", "THAT was a PERFORMANCE"! ...it turns out this was a results show and the singer was Demi Lovato (sp?) ...I am still in shock at to HOW ON EARTH CAN SHE BE A SINGING STAR? WTF?????? My point is that Adam at his VERY WORST cannot possibly do that bad...if the public eats that garbage up - how can Adam fail? As far as I am concerned he can go on any show and kill it. If the DJs do not play him - it will not be caused by a "bad performance". (and I am still convinced that AMAs turned out to be the BEST thing for the world wide publicity that happened to him ;D)...

Happy birthday Chunkey and JJ! Also wanted to shout out to my fellow Central Texans about our 70 days of triple digit heat. Woo hoo. Looks like we're going for an all-time record of 80+ days. Anyway, nice to meet you all, I don't know a lot of other Glamberts in RL and it's awesome to see so many Texans on this forum. And thanks to momtomany for the AWESOME post last night about Burning Man. I gotta say as an introvert, the event has always sounded like my worst nightmare, but you made me see what was so special about it. Thank you!!! As a newbie, can I ask, is it OK to post essays here? I have written two blog posts over on ALFC that I think some of you might enjoy. I'm working on a series of thoughts about Adam as an artist. I'd welcome any comments either here or on ALFC. I am going to post a teaser and links here ... please let me know if I'm violating a protocol. I want to be a good citizen of Adamtopia and will gladly take this away if not OK. Adam the Artist: Freedom of ExpressionOne of the first things I ever noticed about Adam was that he described himself in a way that really surprised me. And no, it wasn’t “weird fuckin’ fag.” It was “artist.” When I was growing up, it was unheard of for a pop musician to be described as an artist, and frankly anyone who had gone around proclaiming himself to be an artist would have been derided as insufferably pretentious. Back then, the idea was still popular that great entertainers were Tarzan-like savants who simply wandered in off the streets with a song in their hearts. Shows like American Idol, which omit to mention years of hard work and musical education in the young people’s biographies, still promote this idea. Back in the day, even sophisticated pop performers like Elton John and Michael Jackson would demur if “accused” of being an artist; the only proper response was “Aw shucks, ma’am, I’m just an entertainer.” Read the whole post adamlambertfans.com/users/juniemoon/blogs/1420701Adam the Artist: Living the LifestyleWhen I first heard about this idea of living an artist’s lifestyle, the first thing I thought of was Moulin Rouge. Artists sit around drinking absinthe, hanging out with transvestites, and partying all night, right? Substitute tequila for absinthe and chalk up another one for Adam as a great artist! Well, no. Living an artist’s lifestyle actually means something quite different (though it certainly allows for more partying than the average 9-5er can endure). What it means is embracing art not as an activity that one does for money or in one’s spare time, but as part of one’s everyday life and purpose. Read the whole post adamlambertfans.com/users/juniemoon/blogs/1426331Thank you!
