Thanks S*&@^#r and thanks Cassie for letting me know about Adam Musings! Sounds like my kind of place (running over there now). Junie: NO, thank you. I LOVED your blogs. The one on Adam living the artist's lifestyle had me in tears. To be honest, you touched on my biggest fear for Adam --- that he may be seduced or coerced into gradually losing himself to the relentless business of celebrity, like Elvis and so many others. I know Adam is smart, has years of perspective on celebrity, and is committed to keeping it real. But, it seems like almost an impossible task for any human in his situation. Here we all are.... begging for Adam to do a movie, a TV show, a product endorsement, a fashion line. Begging for him to put out more music NOW. After reading your blog about Elvis selling his soul to put out three movies a year for his clamoring fans, I am gonna shut my mouth forever more about that and be grateful that Adam has not succumbed to the pressures and demands. That he has kept his vision in sight, kept his artistic integrity intact, put his forcefields up. Don't know how he is able to do it, but I am so happy he has.

Besides the experience of his years of living in Hollywood, I think his age will work to his advantage. He wasn't a teen or even in his early 20s when this all hit. Being in his late 20s will be a good thing, in the long run.

lambosessed Lambosessed MY NEW VIDEO! - @adamlambert's Outlaws of Love edit & downloads bit.ly/OOLqc23 minutes ago Uploaded by lambosessed on Aug 25, 2011 Takes my breath away! Stunning! Ethereal. Artistic. And no more marriage proposals shouted out to ruin the mood. Downloading this audio to keep. I will delete the earlier versions. This is by far the best. Don't miss it! I haven't watched this yet since I'm at work, so I'll savor it tonight. Knowing Lambosessed's skill, I'm sure it's fantastic. But I have to say, after MULTIPLE listenings to the version I d/l'd, the "marry me" screamer has kind of grown on me. It's just so ridiculous and OTT and WTF that I can't help but grin when I hear her. And then I think how completely ironic it is, and it makes the song even more poignant to me. It's really kind of perfect in a weird way... :

I so hope that A&S go to the BM! Even for a couple of days! and I also hope that momtomany and the other Glambert that I know is going (and used to post on PF) would bump into him and have a laugh together Bringing from the yesterday's thread: Last night my TV got turned while America Got Talent was on...someone was singing...EVERY note was off key, the voice was screeching and utterly unpleasant, at the end there was a scream that made the Gokey scream into a glorious singing.... my only thought was - "wow, that's all they got to show?".... and then I hear the judges saying these words" - it was AMAZING!", "THAT was a PERFORMANCE"! ...it turns out this was a results show and the singer was Demi Lovato (sp?) ...I am still in shock at to HOW ON EARTH CAN SHE BE A SINGING STAR? WTF?????? My point is that Adam at his VERY WORST cannot possibly do that bad...if the public eats that garbage up - how can Adam fail? As far as I am concerned he can go on any show and kill it. If the DJs do not play him - it will not be caused by a "bad performance". (and I am still convinced that AMAs turned out to be the BEST thing for the world wide publicity that happened to him ;D)... Yes that is true, I mean even the AMA's when I first heard it I thought it was bad, but when I got the courage to listen/watch again, it wasn't that bad, well certain parts were but still some was passing. But my thing is, the public eats this stuff up no matter how bad it is, but for Adam it seems, that he's facing so much it seems that he must needs to keep proving himself. It reminds me of a quote from Tyra on America's Next Top Model, when she was talking about the plus size models, and other minorities. She said something about it not being enough simply to be as good as or a little better then other models, that the others will get picked over you cause they're easier and cheaper to market, that you have to be so much better to give them a reason and make them have to look at you. I posted about this long ago, but I think it was probably at PF. My then 10yo son brought up this subject with me. He was reading about Jackie Robinson in school and it wasn't long after Idol - maybe around the time FYE was released and he knew enough from me about the challenges Adam has faced trying to be an out popstar. He told me that Adam was breaking the taboo against an out gay performer on a major label and radio because he was so exceptionally talented. He did a whole speach on how Jackie Robinson had to be an amazing ball player to break into the major leagues. He had recently also read about Tiger Woods (maybe it was February = Black History Month?) and how he had to be one of the best golfers in the world in order to break the racial barrier in professional (and even amateur) golf. Those of us who have been female in mostly male professions have encounter this personally - we had to be far better than our coworkers in order to get the recognition, advancement, etc. If we were average, we were overlooked or even considered inferiour. I think Adam is well aware of this - he knows he is under the microscope and has to be "better" than the rest just to break through and be allowed to follow the profession he has chosen.

Guess there is a place for both.

gee...no offense to lambossed, but I'm not convinced that is the clearest vocal recording. Visually stunning, but I found the sound kind of fuzzy in the beginning.....
I'm going to re-visit some other versions to check. (maybe I'm wrong).

Happy birthday Chunkey and JJ! As a newbie, can I ask, is it OK to post essays here? I have written two blog posts over on ALFC that I think some of you might enjoy. I'm working on a series of thoughts about Adam as an artist. I'd welcome any comments either here or on ALFC. I am going to post a teaser and links here ... please let me know if I'm violating a protocol. I want to be a good citizen of Adamtopia and will gladly take this away if not OK. Adam the Artist: Freedom of ExpressionOne of the first things I ever noticed about Adam was that he described himself in a way that really surprised me. And no, it wasnt weird fuckin fag. It was artist. When I was growing up, it was unheard of for a pop musician to be described as an artist, and frankly anyone who had gone around proclaiming himself to be an artist would have been derided as insufferably pretentious. Back then, the idea was still popular that great entertainers were Tarzan-like savants who simply wandered in off the streets with a song in their hearts. Shows like American Idol, which omit to mention years of hard work and musical education in the young peoples biographies, still promote this idea. Back in the day, even sophisticated pop performers like Elton John and Michael Jackson would demur if accused of being an artist; the only proper response was Aw shucks, maam, Im just an entertainer. Read the whole post adamlambertfans.com/users/juniemoon/blogs/1420701Adam the Artist: Living the LifestyleWhen I first heard about this idea of living an artists lifestyle, the first thing I thought of was Moulin Rouge. Artists sit around drinking absinthe, hanging out with transvestites, and partying all night, right? Substitute tequila for absinthe and chalk up another one for Adam as a great artist! Well, no. Living an artists lifestyle actually means something quite different (though it certainly allows for more partying than the average 9-5er can endure). What it means is embracing art not as an activity that one does for money or in ones spare time, but as part of ones everyday life and purpose. Read the whole post adamlambertfans.com/users/juniemoon/blogs/1426331Thank you! We love thoughtful, insightful, challenging and/or humorous essays here at ATop. The way you introduced your blogs is perfect: a short selection to intrigue, and then a link to the entire thing. May I also suggest that we have a special area for these extended thoughts about Adam. In the Salon there is a board under Inspired by Adam, called "Adam Musing." Be sure to post the blog, or at least a link to it there, too. (You can let us know in the daily thread that you have posted something new there.) Things go by so fast in the daily thread, that they are hard to find later when you want to re-read, quote or comment. In Adam Musing, it is preserved and much easier to find. adamtopia.com/index.cgi?board=inspired&action=display&thread=61Thanks for joining us and sharing with us! juniemoon - Welcome from another fellow Texan! Glad you joined us here. Could you please post your entire essays for those of us who are not members of ALF? Sorry to say I have never joined! Thanks!

Junie, thank you bringing over your blog posts. Beautiful writing! I'm enjoying the rest of your writings as well on ALF. The last paragraph in Living the Lifestyle gave me pause....
I understand Adam's key tattoo to be his inner commitment to protecting this inner artist child. I love the symbolism of this key; whenever I get impatient for new music, costumes, dances, and performances, I am going to try to remember it, and what happened to the King, and let our prince get ready in his own sweet, sweet time.
