Overall, I continue to be amazed with Adam's consistent pursuit of perfection. It takes a lot of strength to hold up against a major label's desire to push out music quickly. Having this kind of persistence is essential to creating music that matters. And the hope that Adam will do exactly this is why I am here, I why I am a fan. I will wait patiently until he is done.
This is very different than Kelly's situation. Adam indicated he is still working on his album, Kelly was done and RCA delayed the release from March 2011 until October 2011.
Adam tweeted there was no set release date and he is not done. He was specific. This is not RCA not wanting to tell anyone the release date. Adam left no doubt that he is not done with the album -- and it will get released when he is done. But this is not something coming from RCA.
Kelly's situation is very different. She said she was done recording the album in Nov 2010, and in Dec 2010. Then she recorded one more song at RCAs request. Her album was completed and could have been released in March 2011. RCA pushed the schedule back to September 2011 and then finally to October 2011.
ETA Regarding this comment -- "The pulse insider says that the album is still listed for a November release." That is from areyoureadytojump who has a connection with a major retailer and is old info. There is no release date for either the single or album, never has been a release date for either the single or album. And my take is that Adam will be done when he is done.

With Project Runway being shown the end of Sept. or early Oct., it seems to me that this has probably been the release "window" all along. It may all be off by 2 weeks, at the most. I just am not seeing big delays, to my way of thinking. And as far as being done, done means done! That's it... no more mixing, no more mastering, or whatever those technical things are. Adam said he'd probably be done in October. That gives him another 8 weeks and still be on his schedule.
I think the tailspin many have gone into shows how well Adam knows his fanbase. He's not giving a date for a reason. No firm dates will come from him or RCA until they are sure. I am still going with late November. I think there has been a lot of panic today over nothing.

Okey dokey...LOL!! Gonna try this again. Lost my post last time. Went out into the *ether*, I'm sure of it. (btw, when I was 7, I had my tonsils out..they gave me ether...ugh!! I remember it well and it was not a good thing..ick). Sorry, TMI. So, on to my post. I was saying thatI was not worried too much about Adams single date or even the album date. And, I'm not. Adam is going to do what he wants, and that's that!! I'm good with it...lol! I'm ready, but I will wait for the (epic...sorry Adam). hehehe!! I do not see a lot of panic anywhere. I see a few OTT fans who freaked out on Twitter, but mostly fans who are tired of waiting for music. And some posts on Idol blogs by people who think RCA is screwing with Adam.
myspenser, I do not think Project Runway is big enough to be a major consideration on a promo calendar. Sounds more like an opportunity that was presented to Adam and that he thought was great to do.
Regarding release plans -- we really do not know when Adam decided to switch management companies but that decision would have changed everything. We do know that Adam switched management companies at the end of May, so there was some promotional events in place from 19M/XIX -- for example, VH1 BTM and MTV Talk@Playground were set when he was still with 19M.
If DMG started to work on promo the beginning of June, they really would have had trouble putting something together with enough weight until mid-September -- the 9/20/11 date really made sense to me. And that was the rumored date earlier this week. Obviously that date was not correct because now it looks like October.
All of that said, Adam will be done when he is done. And he is clearly not done yet.

Unfortunately, or not...hehehe, I'm going on vacation to Hawaii on the 17th of Nov., to spend my Bday (11-20) with my son & brother. Was so hoping that I would have the album by then.
Thinking of preordering it & having it sent to my son, so I will have it when I get there. I will have internet there, but who knows how often I will be able to get on?? LOL!! I have a free vacation to HI, and I'm worried about hearing Adams new album???
Of course I am...Priorities!!!!!!!!! OH YEAH!!!!!!!

The part I have trouble understanding, is I just can't wrap my head around the assumption that he wouldn't have some kind of an internal deadline, whomever it was set by, RCA, his management, or himself, that he was working to meet, however soft it is. I don't know about the music industry, but I know as a visual artist, I have exhibit obligations often a year in advance, and it doesn't matter if I don't know exactly what work I'll make or if I'm not feeling the muse, I still have to meet them, and galleries and promo people rely upon getting all kinds of information and images to do their jobs in advance. In fact without deadlines, I'm much less productive as a person who is basically selling creative expression. If the plan was really to wait until an album was done and then start booking promo at that point, wouldn't the album have to sit there finished for some time until all the promo (much of which seems like it's got to be scheduled in advance, if it's performance bookings on TV for example) finally caught up? This is why I think that there must be an internal deadline somewhere, just not one being shared with us. Black friday would be great, but I can't put my hopes in that either, on the off chance they will be dashed again and we're looking at the new year. I will wait until late October for the single, and try to block everything else out of my mind until Adam says more just to stay sane.  |
