Oh Lord. I'm sure Marc is a nice guy and all, but there is NO comparison between him and Adam. None. No way. Marc is lite compared to Adam's extra rich. I wonder if Marc has ever heard Adam sing WWTLF? Not only did he hear Adam sing the whole QAL show in MSG in 2014, he gave an interview where he shared his opinion about him The quote is in my signature... rabop.com/temp/qal/AFL_degsep_Rock.pngMarc Martel: "In my opinion, Queen has the current best male singer in the world singing for them," Martel says of Lambert. "I went to see their show in New York, and the dude does not strain or miss a single note. He's an incredible virtuoso. www.usatoday.com/story/life/music/2014/09/03/marc-martel-paradise-premiere/14996237/Thank you! Yes, I remember Marc saying this now. I've always said he's a good guy. And he sure recognizes Adam's vocal abilities. Thanks for reminding me. Objectively speaking, Adam has the better voice, but it's not about that. Fan-wise, it's all about where your loyalties lie.

From what I've seen of Marc's videos, he seems to never "become" the song. It's rather generic. Does he have a bad voice? No. It's just fine. It's very Freddie-like, which is why he was chosen for the job. But we are so used to Adam's richness and character-driven performances, that any else is pale by comparison. If I had never seen Adam or Marc perform in my life, and if I saw both videos of them for the first time singing WWTLF or KQ or TSMGO, I would hands-down be more impressed with Adam. BUT, if I "knew" Marc beforehand and had developed an allegiance to him, I would likely prefer his versions only because he would be the one I'm used to and the one I choose to support. It's often about loyalty and not vocal prowess. The WWTLF performance did seem very rote, arm out here, other arm, all matching screen shots of Freddie. It could explain why he has also started his own cover band, perhaps he wants to embody the song and doesn't feel he can as part of QEX.

I'm sorry if my previous post came across as disrespectful to MM. I respect that they respect each other, and I think he has a lovely voice. I have just been unwillingly getting familiar with MM trolls on Adam videos, and I had to vent a little about it. thelambertluvva His voice is very Freddie-like, relative to Adam, but that TSMGO performance is another where I just don't see what the song means to him. Maybe that's the whole point of QEX and my criticism is misplaced. Maybe it's meant to be an experience where you just close your eyes (or focus on the projector screen) and imagine that Freddie is there. That's fine for the purpose of that show. Not sure how Adam is criticized for being "karaoke," though, and the same people then suggest MM. Do they really think the band itself, Brian and Roger, don't want that "dangerous" atmosphere that they've talked about in interviews, where their music is alive and being reimagined right beside them, not just being channeled in a static way? Very odd to me, but maybe the appeal of his Freddie-like voice is just that strong for the fans who prefer MM. sarah You wrote: „Adam might as well be Freddie's son--very similar precisely because he's very himself.“ I think, Freddie and Adam are not as similar, as some people think. Sure, they have some things in common and these things give them both the chance to be great frontmen for Queen. On the other hand, there are also many character-traits, where they are completely different (a bit like cats and dogs😉). I didn't phrase myself well, I think. That's sort of what I meant: that they have similarities that Roger and Brian have pointed out but the most important "similarity" is that they are utterly themselves and Adam's not trying to be Freddie. The beauty of the union seems to be that he is fully himself and that self blends perfectly into Queen.
