Lengthy, but it's not like we have anything else to do.
Today was supposed to be my Adam de-tox day. Every once in a while I worry about myself. I went to our (10 sq mile) county park, found a place to park in the shade to read my book and relax. 1. Had GNT CD on when pulled in, left it on as I got organized. A young boy walking his dog, somewhere between 9 and 13yrs old (school not till after Labor Day,) walked up to my window during SFW, asked me if that was SFW and Adam. Mom, it seems is a fan but dad wouldn't let her go to any concerts last year and won't let her on computer when he's home to do anything Adam related.... no comment. He didn't want to leave, so I gave him ATOP info for mom and he walked away (won't discuss how he came back to talk later. ) GOT MY NEW LIBRARY BOOK OUT
2. Two women, middle age, exercising walkers, came strolling thru the lot and in the silence of the park, were talking loudly. "I thought they were nice, moral people. They have 11 children (moral but insane, my opinion) and I just found out one of the boys is gay. Can you believe it? I was shocked!" I might have kept my mouth shut, but they happened to be parked right next to me soooo, I smiled and said, "You know, MY son is gay (he isn't but irrelevant). Are gays a problem for you?" Needless to say, there was a lot of "well... no, I didn't mean anything.... blah, blah, blah." I actually think I saw a grin on her friend's face as she stumbled about. BACK TO BOOK.
PAGE 28. "He had a wonderful voice, sure, and he was ridiculously handsome with nearly supernatural charisma - but he also had that elusive, intangible, the "you know it when you see it" quality. that raises the greats to the status of legendary." CONTINUED WITH BOOK
PAGE 58. "Big Cyndi (receptionist) was six-five and had recently completed a four-day juice-cleansing "evacuation" diet so that she now tipped the scales at three-ten. Her hands were the size of throw pillows. Her head resembled a cinder block..... The diet had darkened Cyndi's usually sunny demeanor.... her make-up usually landed somewhere between nineties' goth and seventies' Kiss........ now it looked like it'd been applied by laying a sixty-four box of Crayolas on her face and turning up the heat lamp."
Obviously the universe had not meant for me to take my Adam de-tox day, so I turned the car on, GNT blaring, and here I sit, sharing why this whole Adam journey is taking a turn toward the scary. Resistance is futile, I know, but I guess I don't even get a day to ponder my previous life.

Since it's not so busy, just a quick reminder that the Trevor Project's birthday fundraising drive ends tomorrow, and they have less than $5000 to go to meet their goal. We can all help spread the word for this last push. Here is the fans of Adam fundraising page goo.gl/QixgW There is info about this drive in the social action thread. Thanks to all who have contributed! Thanks for the reminder; just made my donation.

savvy, love your story! (Even though the husband wouldn't "let her" part made me cringe!)

savvy, love your story! (Even though the husband wouldn't "let her" story made me cringe!) I'm not good with "allowed to" unless it's a child under 18. My mantra to everyone who asks why I never remarried, "I don't take direction well." Even my ex laughs because even way, way back when we got married, we lived the ERA, didn't just talk about it. That's why we've stayed close even after divorce...also way, way back. Ha!

cookeejarGlad you're home safe. Sad you didn't miss anything, too. savvy ;D cassieYou always make so much sense. ljsmackI always image Adam having another and another and another inspiration about how to sing a song. Perhaps with more recording experience, he'll have an easier time deciding when to quit and save it for the live performances. (Not that I'm trying to rush him or anything.)
